Ok I am a huge black tea drinker. I know we are suppose to avoid caffeine but when did others out there start drinking caffeinated tea again?

black tea-totally okay. i started having mine three weeks post-op. i am now nine months out and 75 pound down. any carbonated drink is uncomfortable/noisy still today so i am sticking to tea. tea has the caffeination without the fizz. congratulations on this new adventure. just remember to do what is right for you and the rest will fall into place. Love-N

My doctor had no restrictions regarding caffeinated tea. I had tea in the hospital, and black tea the first day home. I use Splenda. My goal was to lose 80 pounds, and I have lost 63 in just over five months. I'm sure there are people that were told not to have tea. I was just told to try to drink equal amounts of Water.< /p>

I had another nut apt, post op a little more than 3.5 months. She said tea is fine. They put a blanket rule out there because some people will only drink caffeinated beverages and they worry about dehydration.

We were told that because caffeine dehydrates you, we needed to drink an additional ounce of Water for every once of a caffeinated beverage to compensate. Plus, because it is a stimulant, it can also stimulate hunger. Definitely true for me.

Every morning I have 2-3 cups of coffee. The morning after surgery the nurse brought me some coffee. I could only take a couple of sips that day but now I'm doing much better.

If the black tea was what I wanted then I would certainly have some.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
