I never had any nausea they gave me a lot of medication for that. For the pain I also received pain medications and I was told to walk, walk and more walk.:) Congratulations and I hope you feel better soon!

Give it at least a few days! I left the hospital 3 days after surgery and by the time I got home the nausea was gone completely. Pain on the other hand...that was a couple of weeks. Especially first thing in the morning when I had gone all night without pain meds, Today I am one month out and have zero pain. Today and tomorrow will probably be your worst days! I hope you feel better soon!

If you walk around it does help although that's when I was in pain the worst. My pain lasted a week or so then suddenly it went away. I stop the pain meds four days post op because they didn't do anything but keep me up.

First congrats!! Sorry you are in pain. I took medication for pain and nausea for a few weeks off and on. It will get better!! Hang in there... Walking really helped me loads! I felt so much better when I got home and was able to rest in my own bed. Hopefully you will improve quickly!

I felt nauseous for the first 2 days and it gradually improved.

I also felt a lot of pain (I wasn't expecting that). My surgeon said it was normal & I should take the pain medication as I needed it. I did and it helped a lot. By the end of week 1, no longer needed the pain meds.

And somewhere in the middle of week 2, I woke up one morning & just felt pretty normal again.

Hang in there... it will get better!

Sorry you are in pain. Hang in there it does get better. Follow the advice of everyone and that is to walk and take your pain meds. It has been a week since my surgery and I don't really have any pain just a lack of energy. But walking seems to be the cure to everything. So walk as much as you can and take your pain meds. I promise it will get better.

if you're still in the hospital, ask for a scope patch. I had them put one on BEFORE surgery, and I never had nausea when I woke up.

The pain tho - I was in pain for about 4-5 days. It gradually got better, but those first few days it was very difficult to get around.

I'm 8 days post op and feeling A LOT better. I cleaned my whole house yesterday (slowly, and with help). Today I went walking around costco and Target with no issues.

Walking really does wonders ! I had the worst chest pain from the gas ... I walked 1 1/2 after getting to my room to start working on getting rid of it....was gone by the next day... Still have some belly pain when I drink my shakes to fast !

Nausea was my issue, the pain meds controlled the pain. Lots of Zofran for nausea!

By day 2 I felt like a new person.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
