Has anyone spent longer time on liquid diet then what the doctor suggests?

I got a packet of what the diet is like post op and he has people going to soft foods 2 days after surgery? Does that sound right? If I don't feel ready can I stay on liquids or full liquids longer? That just doesn't seem like a lot of time to heal before real food.

Hmm.. Can you get everything you need nutritionally from just liquids and full liquids?

Not sure if you can get everything but I do remember asking about his supplements and Protein and he's a Nut when it come to that...he gets at least 80g of protein in daily....I found out about protein to go from him...28g of protein in one shot...

I was on liquids for 3 weeks, purée for 1, soft chopped for 1, and then moved on. I haven't had any issues at all.
