  1. I’ve gained back much of the weight I lost after my VSG and really I’m interested in this procedure, any additional information is truly appreciated.
  2. wow Tim.....I was right behind you in Tijuana....I had surgery on March 22......looking good....love your chin
  3. Worst: your so thin, you look like you need a burger Even worst: (publicly) I hope you're seeing a Dr. best: you look great, you've lost so much weight, I'm happy for you Even best: you look so wonderful, whatever you're doing I need to as well My son made me feel so special when he texted me a pic of our family from Thanksgiving four yrs ago and complimented how much "work" I've done on improving my health. Made me cry in the car.....now I feel better about paying his massive tuition bill....lol
  4. Surgery date 3/22/2013 Mexico SW: 225 CW: 167 size 18 in pic to left size 10 in pic to right
  5. I had surgery in March of 2013 in MX. I used Alighterme. My dr was Dr. Alejandro Ortiz. He was very good. my recovery at Mi Dr. Is comparable if not better than what I received at Hackensack Hospital in ?NJ. Do your research and trust yourself. Anyone can make claims of anything good or bad. My Dr. In NJ was negligent in taking time to remove my lap band even though I was in obvious pain in the ER where he saw me but bc if was his sabbath had refuse go do my operation until Monday. Trust yourself to make your decision. BTW....if Abraham the driver for Alighterme us still with them you are in excellent hands. He was great and his service was impeccable?
  6. Not many pounds to some but this feels great to me....from a size 18-10 so far. On vacation now and trying to keep up the physical activities (bike riding) but love the progress so far Sent from my iPad using VST
  7. I was sleeved on march 22 at MiDoctor with Dr. alejandro lopez...pls when you are on this forum you should clarify which drs you are using , used or thinking about. The names are similar and people should remember that it is these Drs livelihood you are messing with when making statements (even if they are true and personal) without being specific. With that said, my experience was great. No exaggeration. I've had surgeries in the states and my sleeve surgery was probably the second best next to my csection with my daughter. Clean, professional and informative. I must also mention that I went through Alighterme......haven't Ben on this forum in a while and companies do change but MY experience with them was great...Abraham the driver was the best. Four months lost 44lbs since. Size 18-10....goal weight 148....current weight 181 surgery weight 224. Highest weight 259 ...5'8" Sent from my iPad using VST
  8. The hair loss is definitely from the lack of protein. My girlfriend was not getting enough protein andit happened to her. I drink protein to go which has 28g of protein in 2oz. I drink it in my water bottle with half bottle of water. I tried protein shakes but nothing agreed with my stomach....I drink 2-3 of these bottles everyday...which is between 56-84 g of protein a day.....it goes done so easily and thank GOD I haven't experienced the hair loss....prayerfully it will be kept at bey.....good luck....BTW....the Protein to go is also reasonably priced at 3.00 per bottle....I get mine whenever there on groupon.....I have enough to last till October....don't laugh....
  9. I didn't start buying right away.....bc the season changed I wore a lot of the stuff from last yr but they definitely fit much looser.....i thought i was at a size 10 and bought an 8 just to encourage myself, when I got home it fit so nicely....was totally shocked????....since then I stop buying....I definitely would do the consignment shops but when I start again, I'm buying my goal size which is a 4/6....I have an event to go in December and I'm renting my dress. I ordered it in a 6 so that's inspiration for me. You should buy one or two things one size smaller than you are right now bc it's inspirational nd you know it will eventually fit. Be careful if you are in a seasonal area like me.
  10. Wanted to be at 175....23.4 from my then weight...currently stalled at 189....I joined late and fel good about what I did loose but more to come....new challenge in 12 weeks (9/20/13 to reach 165...(24) away from that goal... Sent from my iPad using VST
  11. Your not getting enough protein. Ring happened to my friend she increased her protein in take and now it's growing back....take hydrolyzed protein. 28g it comes in small dosage ring add in water. Goes down fast....I try to get in 70-80 g a day
  12. A pair of size 8-10 pants I bought in London a yr and a half yrs ago
  13. I was sleeved on 3/22/13....I've only loss 30lbs....the scale hasn't moved in two weeks...would like to stay positive but I'm so looking forward to more weight loss....I need to change up things some...food and exercise...just got a bike so hopefully that helps
  14. I know how you feel and I empathize with u. I too felt the same way, and a a side bar anyone that says I didn't do my research can kiss my ass, Bc I did a ton load if it. It is normal ring feel this way Bc it represent a change you are going through not only physically but also mentally. Remember why you had the surgery in the first place. There will come a time when you will not only loose but you will be able to eat things you like again just in smaller portions. It's up to you to Make healthy decisions but your first really big one was to get this surgery. So chin up and weight down....
  15. Not sure if you can get everything but I do remember asking about his supplements and Protein and he's a Nut when it come to that...he gets at least 80g of protein in daily....I found out about protein to go from him...28g of protein in one shot...
  16. Try protein to go. Their protein concentrate you add to a small amount if water....28g each I have two a day....I also make Dr. smoothie shakes Bc their fruits and Ice..... I originally got a smoothie from ballys after my workout and ask what they made it out of. It was the dr smoothies so I've been using it since. I had the same reaction to the milk shakes...
  17. Hi All, Okay, so I'm 8wks out and happy with the 26lbs I be loss so far. Now I need more fitness friends on myfitnesspal.com........please add me or let me know your tag I'm treciagesq99 Thanks all Sent from my iPad using VST
  18. Okay don't laugh but in order to get through the first several wks (I'm 8wks out now) I was cooking up a ridiculous storm.....Easter was the Sunday after my surgery and I cooked a five course meal by myself. My husband has seen more gourmet dishes in this two months than in our first six yrs together (and he's loving ur.). I also think it has a lot to do with going to restaurants ANC not being able to eat an entire meal any more. My husband believes meh taste buds were raging so much I have to be around food and Bc I was so soon out of surgery I couldn't have any of it......I can now eat but list the cravings...If I taste while I cook I can't sit and eat until hrs later so I try to slow cook food now.....
  19. At 8 wks out you do have cravings (in my opinion) but your body will now naturally reject some kinds of foods (for me it's potato chips and ice cream) Bc it can't handle it anymore. However, there are other foods that will continue to taste like always. You just have to Be able to recognize, what's good for you and what's not; how much you should allow yourself and how much you can't. I'm a Water freak now...I know when my body doesn't have enough of it....so it fills me up a lot plus I drink it with lemon....helps with moving my bowels. I also treat myself on the weekends if I did well during the week in going to the gym and logging my foods...(I don't track foods on the weekends)....but I do workout. Anyway good luck to you
  20. Girl you look good!....don't be discouraged.....we are here for you....sometimes you need to know that. I get discouraged also....but I read through others post to get better ideas.....I will make this work got me....and do should you
  21. My friend had it done in 2010.......he was on Soups and other liquids for 6mths.....he lost 150lbs in that time.....he's maintained it, looks great and now off of all his medication......he originally paid for it out of country, when the insurance company saw that he came off all his medication they reimbursed him the $ for the surgery....it costed him $8000...and they gave his $6500.
