Newbie... But I learn quick!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, As the title suggests, I'm a newbie! I've been visiting the forum for the last 2 weeks reading everyones amazing stories. Other forums on the net seem to focus so much on the negatives, but I'm looking for support! Glad I found this place. I'm not far into my journey yet. I went to the seminar in April, had initial consultation with the surgeon on May 8th. And now the fun begins! I hope to meet lots of new people that are on a similar journey.

Be good to you!

Welcome!

Take by your handle you are in Dallas. Have you decided which surgeon is going to "do the job"? We are so lucky to live in an area with so many top surgeons to choose from!

Again, welcome!

Welcome - you sound like me in my early days. I think you have the right attitude - look for support. There will be negative people everywhere. I learned early on to skip those posts, and to move on to the inspirational ones and the informative ones.

This is such an exciting journey - and I think it is important to look at it like that. I actually made a cover for my three ring binder that I kept all my pre and post op medical papers in (you will want something like this b/c there is a lot of info you need to keep track of) with pictures of my inspiration for taking such a big step as weightloss surgery. It had pictures of people important to me in my life and pictures of activities I wanted to do once I lost weight. I never explained it to anyone - but everytime I looked at the binder I thought about the reasons behind this decision.

Best of luck to you. You are in for a great adventure!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
