I am at almost 4 weeks and I feel like I can eat anything as long as I chew well and eat slow. I had a sparerib from Famous Daves's today and it didn't bother me at all. I could have eaten more but I stopped myself. I even had some potato chips. I'm sure I could have eaten more but I stopped myself at 10. I think the sleeve will work for me as long as I use it the right way. I haven't had pizza yet but when I do, I plan in eating the topping and nit the bread. I do feel the restriction when I'm full. Do you feel that?

I can eat anything, but very little of it still (sleeved March 20) tonight we had pierogies and onions and I was only able to eat 2 of them. I'm not complaining.. I do with I had a little less restriction at this point though.. I worry that I will never get passed the meat in my meals ever again.. lol

I was sleeved 2/20 as well and apparently we are all in the same boat without an oar. I don't eat like I used to but I eat way more than most (I compare menus on My Fitness Pal). Frankly, I don't know how some people do it- 400 calories for an entire day?! I get in about 800 and could eat more if I didn't pay attention.

My 5 weeks is this Thursday, and just this week I feel I can eat more "normal" I follow the NUT plan like im supposed to for my doc so I can eat meat now, but its pureed. For dinner I am up to about a 4th a cup, but then I feel the restriction and stop. I think it really just depends on the person.

Have you made a post op appointment with your NUT? I saw mine at 2 weeks post op. maybe that will help you figure out what's going on. I think it's too early to stretch anything, especially with Water. I think bread and starches can stretch it but not water.

From what I've been told and read , it's physically impossible to stretch sleeve . There's many threads on this topic very interesting .

It is not impossible rather it is relative. If a newly sleeved stomach is roughly the size of a sharpie marker, it can double in size over the year. Someone posted a link to a video where Dr. Cirangle showed an image of a patient 1 yr after surgery and 4 yrs after. The 4 yr old tummy appeared to be doubled in size but even then it was still tiny compared to a normal stomach. He referred to the 4 yr post op stomach as dilated.

OMG....even if I could I wouldn't out if shear fear if stretching or popping something......

I'm definitely not judging just concerned. I made the choice to have this surgery because I wanted it ring help me make better decisions in what, and when to put something in my mouth. Even if I just chewed the cheese and threw out the trash I would be too scared. I never want to go back to where I was and that motivates me. We have ring teach our bodies. The only thing i have to say is with my sleeve, I don't ever hear my stomach growl even if I haven't eaten. That is truly a change from before......good luck with your journey remember its just a tool u need to choose to use

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
