HI GIRLS,

YOU ALL HAVE BEEN SO HELPFUL, WITH YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS IT IS SO MUCH APPRECIATED. I GUESS I DID NOT INTRODUCE MYSELF VERY WELL IN THE OTHER FORUM. SO HERE I GO.

I AM HAPPILY MARRIED TO A WONDERFUL MAN WHO HAS LOVED ME THRU THICK AND THIN & BACK TO THICK LOL!!!WE HAVE 3 CHILDREN JOSH 26 CODY 14 AND CHELSEA 13. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA OF THE UPPER PENNISULA OF MICHIGAN,IN THE OTTAWA NATIONAL FOREST, YUP WE ARE" IN DA WOODS" SO WE WILL BE TRAVELING TO GREEN BAY WISCONSIN FOR MY SURGERY NO ONE IN THE U.P. DOES THIS SURGERY, AND THIS IS THE CLOSEST PLACE WE COULD GO VERSUS DOWN STATE MICHIGAN, WHICH WOULD BE MUCH FARTHER THAN THE 3 HOURS WE WILL DRIVE TO GREEN BAY. THE SURGEON DOING MY SURGERY HAS ONLY DONE 10 LAP BANDS BUT I FEEL HE IS THE RIGHT ONE, HE HAD A SURGEON FROM BIOENTRICS(LAPBAND COMPANY) WITH HIM FOR HIS FIRST 3 SURGERIES, I AM SUR EHE HAS DONE MORE SINCE I SAW HIM FOR MY PRE-OPS.

I WEIGH 252 AS OF TODAY I HAVE LOST 7 LBS, I AM ABOUT 5'4'

I WILL START MY liquid diet ON THE 26TH, SURGERY ON THE AUGUST 2 . I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OVERWEIGHT , I WAS UP TO 282 , AND STARTED USING REDUX AND LOST 62 LBS AND THEN IT WAS TAKEN OFF THE MARKET, I HAVE BEEN UP AND DOWN SINCE THAN. I WANTED TO DO THE RNY ABOUT 13 YEARS AGO BUT CHICKENED OUT, WAS GOING TO GO DOWNSTATE TO THE BARIATRIC CENTER, BUT THOUGHT I COULD DO IT ON MY OWN.BUT YOUR READY WHEN YOUR READY EH?

THIS TIME I AM GOING THROUGH WITH IT, YES I AM SCARED,BUT I AM MORE SCARED OF WINDING UP IN A WHEEL CHAIR IN THE FUTURE, I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA, ARTHRITIS, AND MUTLIPLE SCLEROSIS, AND AT THIS WEIGHT, HOW THE HECK WOULD I TAKE CARE OF MYSELF??ESPECIALLY IN A CHAIR.

MY 14 SON IS THE MOST VERBAL ABOUT THE SURGERY HE TELLS ME I FINE THE WAY I AM , AND I SAY I WILL BE BETTER AFTERWARDS.

WELL DID NOT MEAN TO RAMBLE ON I DO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WORDS OF WISDOM I TRULY DO!!!

Hi Lisa Lee, I'm Lisa B. This has nothing to do with your pre-op fast, but I noticed something interesting while I was doing liquids so I thought this might be a good place to share.

When I was on liquids, I figured I was taking in so few calories that I'd shed weight like crazy. But then I counted the calories in everything I was drinking, and I was taking in 1600 calories of liquids in one day!

I was having juice, chocolate milk, tea with honey, Jello, popsicles, an occasional shake, blended Soups, mash-potato Soup, etc. When I calculated all those calories, I decided to cut back on sugar so I bought 3 boxes of sugarfree popsicles and one box regular. I mixed them all in a bowl in the freezer and just picked randomly - even the sugarfree are good, but getting that additional sweet & naughty one is a treat.

I also started mixing apple juice with cranberry, then diluting it with Water and watering down my Soups a little.

Lisa, please find out from your dr. how your RXs will affect you after surgery. I was advised to take Prevacid before I take the Celebrex for arthritis. Best of luck to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
