I use the sublingual B12 from Walgreen's. It is a tiny pink pill and melts like butter in seconds. Taste is ok.

What brand? I have tried two so far and they take like 20-30 mins to dissolve! Would love one that dissolved quickly.

The sublingual B12 that I pick up at Walgreen's is NATURE MADE. It has 1000 mcg and I got the cherry flavor. For real, it melts under your tongue in seconds! Nature Made products are often in their weekly ad and come "buy one get one 50% off"

My doctor recommended it, but my insurance doesn't cover it because they consider it to be "just" a Vitamin, not a drug. So, it was too expensive for me to go that route. :-(

I love love love nascobal!!!! As soon as I take my puff I feel energized!!! You can go to their site and print a coupon for a coupon card. My insurance does a 3 mth supply for $35. I tried sublingual B12 and it's Nothing compared to nascobal.

I'm currently using the Nascobal now, and my surgeon told me about this plan called ProCareRX which will ship to you a month's supply of the Nascobal, as well as a month's supply of their chewable Multivitamins, their Calcium chews, and chewable Iron pills (if needed), and with insurance coverage I only pay $25 a month. This works out great for me, since it's a one stop shop and covers everything I need post-op! I like the nasal spray, and all the chewable Vitamins actually taste pretty good!!

My insurance wouldn't cover it. I can't afford the $300.00 plus. It is too new and needs to come way down in price.

I am also using the nascobal pkg and seems to be working for me. I don't love the chewable vitamins but they seem to be going down better lately. I just wasn't sure the difference between the nasal spray, sublingual, and shot.

I have a question that maybe one of you can answer. I'm pre-op and still about a month to two months away from my date. However, this morning I received my nascobal (nasal B12) along with 3 different chewable Vitamins. My question: Should I go ahead and start taking these now, before surgery, or wait? I put in a call to the program's office but of course it's Friday, late afternoon so it'll be Monday before I hear back.

I don't think it can hurt to start with the multi, and calcium/D. I might wait until after for the B12 and/or Iron. I don't take the iron now anyhow, I'm not anemic.

Thank you @@jhaymom! I think you're right, plus since the nasal B12 is only once a week, I won't be too far behind if they call me Monday and tell me to take it too!

I would go ahead and start...you certainly wouldn't be doing yourself any harm, it would be good practice, and it would be one less thing to start up with post-surgery...wishing you the best with everything!

@@BryBro63 I really appreciate the feedback! I saw you take the nasal B12 too. Do you feel it "works"? I heard from some people in my support group that injecting b12 is the way to go, but I trust my doctor too. Just wondering what your personal experience has been.

Doctor's office provided coupon which said I had $25 co-pay, but when I went to pharmacy, they said fine print says price is more than $300 with the coupon. Frankly, I think this price is outrageous!

I think my true test will be when I get my bloodwork back next week, to see if my B 12 levels are better...I think if that works out, I'll stick with it. My insurance still covers it for now, so I think I may be good as far as paying. If things change, then I may go back to the pills... $300 is way too much to pay for the convenience!!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
