Difficulty drinking versus eating

Recommended Posts

I had a fill on Saturday and for the first time I know what restriction is. I was just wondering if anyone else had more problem with liquids than with solids after a fill? I can eat just about anything as long as I take small bites and chew well, but a lot of the liquids come back up immediately. Especially the thicker ones like the Protein Drinks no matter how slow and small the sips are. It seems like after I drink about 1/2 a can it all comes back up then I can finish the other half with little or no problem. Sometimes this even happens with plain Water. I'm definitely having a problem getting enough liquids. Any thoughts on this?

P.S. How do I modify the tickerfactory tape showing the weight loss?? I put it on my first post and never been able to change it since then!!

Granny,

Where are you going for your fills? Dr. Fitzpatrick says that if you can't keep Water down, you are too tight!

To change your ticker, go back to ticker factory and update it. Then copy the first group of code, the one that says for bb . go to your profile and click on edit signature. You'll have to delete the old ticker, I just highlight it and delete it. Then paste the code into the spot. It won't look like the ticker until you click on save and look at it again. It will just be messed up letters and numbers and stuff.

YOur in Vancouver, WA right? I remember from when you were banded and drove back home. I'm here too and I was banded by Ortiz 2 days before you!

Hi GrannyAcres

yes i agree...if you cant keep down Water it is too tight...I don't understand why you would be able to keep down food though...very strange..perhaps a visit or phonecall to your dr is due....you don't want to get dehydrated...

:)

I'm sorry you are having so much difficulty. Are you cutting the food in very small bites and chewing thoroughly? I find that I get nauseated if I don't get enough to eat. You might try going on mushies for a few days and see how you feel after that. Also the Constipation can make you feel nauseated. Get some Fiber tablets. You can buy pleasant tasting orange flavored ones in the Vitamin section. They really help with constipation. If you are still having problems after a few days you might be too tight and need a slight unfill. Good luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
