Almost 3 months post-op....Today I went to a local salad bar and made the best (although small) salad I'd ever seen! Oh it was so pretty with all it's bright colored veggies and even a side of fresh fruit! I took FOUR bites and felt full - didn't even touch the fruit! Oh how I wanted to eat that fresh crisp salad that tasted so yummy and good, but I just had to take it to go. It was the first time I mourned food a little - although I am SUPER happy I get full from so little and that outweighs (pun intended) any of the "aww shucks I can't eat that" feelings!! Anyone else?

I'm 2 1/2 months out and can only eat maybe 3 teaspoons of food before I am full, sometimes too full and am in pain.

it's weird--my restriction seems to vary by day. Today I feel like I'm getting restriction just from drinking and don't seem to want food at all. Other days, I feel like I can eat 3/4 to a cup of food--mostly lettuce with a little Protein on top (more fibrous veggies fill me up more and I can eat about half a cup). I'm about 10.5 weeks out.

Im a little over 4 months out and I can only eat a 2 - 3 ounces of food at a time. So if the food is more dense, I can only take in around 2 ounces. Like wings, I can only eat 2. If its fish, I can eat half of a filet because its less dense. Ive gone out for sushi and can only eat 3 little pieces. Thats the only time I wish I could overeat because I LOVE sushi :) So I just eat my 3 pieces very very slowly. But I have to say that like TES, my restriction does vary occasionally.

I'm 12 weeks out. I feel the same way. 3 to 4 bites usually fills me up... and there have been times that I was like... geeez!! I wanted more! But, for the most part, I'm very happy with my sleeve. I can only eat an ounce at a time.. sometimes less. If I measure by volume, 1/4 of a cup is more than I can handle. A lot of times I measure out my food and still can't finish it. It can be frustrating! But I've lost almost 60 pounds, so it is definitely worth it!

I'm sorry to say that at almost exactly 6 months post-op this resonated with me! The first thing I begged my surgeon to let me eat was salad because that was truly the only thing I missed at all. Now it truly is the only thing I'm mourning as the warmer months of the year come around. Fresh vegetables and fruits, crisp, ripe, and delicious...darn it! How I hate only being able to eat about 3 ounces, maybe 4 if I've not been hungry all day.

I've lost 133lbs and I'd have the sleeve again in a heartbeat. But I miss salad. I truly miss eating salad.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
