How long we're you out of work?

I realize everyone is different and our jobs vary, but trying to get a general idea of how long I will need to plan to take off from work. Thank you!

Thank you all for your responses! @TexasMiss.....so sorry to hear about the job!

It's fine. They gave me 2 months admin leave so I'm taking my time, got healed, and am off an running with my sleeve :)

I only took 3 days but really feel like 2 weeks would have been ideal. Desk job.

I took almost 3 weeks. I was approved for 4, but I'm feeling up to getting back. :)

sleeved on a Tuesday, back to work on the next Monday. On my feet for about 10 hours. I cook for a living.

Holy moly! don't know how you did that. I was on my feet cooking for about 3 hours for a special meal about 2 weeks post op, and I was exhausted! I was back to work within a few days, but I have a desk job and I work at home.

I am a teacher so I'm planning my band to sleeve revision during summer break so I'll have about 7 1/2 weeks off. I should be all healed and ready to go for the new school year, hopefully! :)

Didn't get paid if I was out. Had to work Mostly it was okay.

I took 6 weeks. NY requires all employers with over a certain number of employees to carry short term disability. They also don't allow anyone to come back with restrictions. My doc had lift, push, pull no more than 15 pounds for 6 weeks. Hence me being out for 6 weeks otherwise I would have gone back in 3 weeks.

Surgery on Monday morning and back to work the following Monday. Professional job- at desk seeing appointments. The amount of time was perfect! Not too little, not too much.
