  1. I had my surgery jan. 21st. I have only lost 57 lbs and nothing in the last 2 months. I am going to kick up my protein and water and hit the gym harder to see what I can do. I am 4'11" and weigh 158. Dr. Goal is 141 so still 17 lbs to go and I made a more aggressive goal for myself of 130. Disappointed I am not there yet but not giving up.
  2. I just had to share this with everyone. My aunt sent it to me on Facebook:)
  3. I took 6 weeks. NY requires all employers with over a certain number of employees to carry short term disability. They also don't allow anyone to come back with restrictions. My doc had lift, push, pull no more than 15 pounds for 6 weeks. Hence me being out for 6 weeks otherwise I would have gone back in 3 weeks.
  4. We are almost exactly the same weight loss so far!!! Do you have alot more to go before goal? I still have 28 pounds to my surgeons goal. Hoping to lose more than my surgeons goal but was so happy to go below 170. Haven't seen that on the scales in more than 10 years.
  5. Sleeved 1/21 down 47 lbs. only 28 pounds to my surgeons goal weight for me. I would personally like to lose another 10 after that but we will see.
  6. I am 11 weeks out from surgery now. I am 4'11" starting weight was 216, I am now down to 169:) I am kind of a slow loser as 19 pounds is from preop diet. 47 pounds total is not too shabby, right?
  7. Deecc26 on MFP. Sleeved on 1/21
  8. Yea. I would agree you are not a slow loser. I had surgery jan 21st. Weighed 196 day of surgery. Now at 169. I am 4'11". Happy with my progress but wish I could say I was down to 145.
  9. I have dropped a couple sizes. I have not done sny clothes shopping. My mom has picked up some new pants for me at Salvation Army. She has the time to stop and check on it for me and I would hate to pay full price for something I am hoping not to wear very long.
  10. I was sleeved on 1/21! I have lost 36 pounds so far. I am 4'11" and started out at 215. I have another 10 days before I can try chicken. Hoping I can tolerate it since my family eats it all the time. I dread throwing up. I was sick the first day right after my surgery and luckily have not been sick since. I am so sorry you were sick????
  11. A little off topic but I just started using MFP and don't know how to track the food details except calories. Is there something I need to change in the settings?
  12. All time favorite is crazy train by Ozzie Osborne
  13. I did not start feeling energetic until after my one month post op. my vitamin D was really low. I have had to take prescription supplements for this before so I was not terribly surprised. But most people on here usually say about 2 weeks.
  14. Sorry:( don't get chocolate wasted. It won't make you feel better. When you are ready go back out there and find another puppy that needs your loving home.
  15. I was also sleeved on 1/21! I am down 14 lbs but had a week and a half stall after the first 12.
  16. My husband keeps trying to nicely tell me that my breath smells medicinal. Not really sure but thinking its probably from the new tummy trying to heal. Anyone else experience this?
  17. I bought the Tylenol gelcaps. Really small and easy to swallow.
  18. I just had my hair cut off too:( I am only 5 weeks out but my hair is thick and was shedding alot. Plus I work in a food plant. So no choice. It will grow back. We will all be so much happier it will be worth it. Here is a pic of my hair before cutting.
  19. I am allowed to take Tylenol. I got the gel caps because they are easier to swallow.
  20. My surgery was a little different because my lower part of my stomach had scar tissue from Endometriosis. So I had twice the reasons to have VSG. My roommate in the hospital had a frank conversation the day after surgery and both admitted we had the " what the heck did we do to ourselves" thoughts. It does get better every day. I was very weak and did not walk miles but did as much walking as I could manage. It will get better. Hang in there! And congrats on your new tummy that will start a whole new wonderful life for you:)
  21. I am 41 and was sleeved 5 days before my birthday on 1/21/13. I just got back together with my husband after a 3 year seperation:) we were married 19 years ago. We have a beautiful 19 yr old daughter and a terrific 16 yr old son. I have fought with my weight since I had a hysterectomy at 28. I am down 33 pounds and so very happy I had WLS! looking forward to the new thinner me!
  22. Gum

My doc said no gum also.
  23. I was sleeved the same day and have not lost for about 10 days now. I think we are just stalled. I am trying not to get worked up about it. I try to only weigh myself once a week but it ends up about three times.
  24. I have heard that your new Timmy's nerves sometimes take awhile to heal. The only thing I would be cautious about is the serving size you are eating. Just to make sure it's appropriately small enough. Otherwise I would agree and say you are very lucky:)
