Need Motivation and Advice

Recommended Posts

I am 2 weeks away from my surgaversary... and I havent lost any weight in 2 months. Normally this isnt an issue with me, I experienced a stall early on which had me stable for the same length of time but I think the difference is that at that point i knew i was still going to lose, and now so close to my year mark it scares me that I may be all done loosing... When i started my journey last year i told myself that if I hit 160 i would be fine.. well guess where the scale stopped! Yep it goes between 158-160.. and i think because i have seen that scale move downwards for about a year now its hard for me to step on it and not see movement. I am scare that I am to the point where I now must work for my weight loss.

Also i know i have read several posts on here about people that feel like they can eat more during certain days of the month and that is so me! it worries me that my stomach is stretching.. i wish there was an ultrasound that i could get to confirm it was still small, it worries me when i can eat a whole slice of pizza instead of just couple bites.

i am just a ball full of stress and worry right now and talking to my friends makes me feel worse so i really wanted to motivation from people here that have been through what I have and can actually give me true to life experiences to say its okay and (hopefully i will lose more)

on a good note i have been faithfully working out 4 days a week, i feel great after I work out. Although my diet does need more tweeking i know that i will be back on track soon.

Thanks everyone for reading and listening to me vent!!

Actually, you can get an upper GI to confirm the size of your stomach.

I don't know about stretching, but what i know about is that "feeling of restriction" or feeling of tightness is influenced by how you eat.

So, try this - go back to the basics for like a week. Measure, eat 5-6 very small meals a day, or go on Protein drinks etc. Eat as though you were 8 weeks out not a year out. Drink lots of Water, but not with food - all the basics. Restrict carbs. I wonder if in a week you feel more of the feeling of tightness again.

It is worth a try!

How far out are you Jane? I was 303 when I started and I am now 207. I need to get to 160 but have been the same weight for 2 months. I will be 1 year out in June. I can eat more about a cup per meal.

First of all it sounds like you hv done wonderful! Congratulations!

Have you thought about changing things up? I dont know how many carbs or Protein you intake daily but I know what works for me is staking more protein than carbs and keeping my carbs low. I also try to fluctuate my eating a few times a week. Just a thought. You may already be doing it. Good luck!

I needed to read this today! I am one of the lower BMIers but have felt very discouraged lately. I started at 206 and am currently at 150 (sleeved 10/26). I want to lose at least 30 more. My scales haven't moved more than a couple pounds each month for 2-3 mths now. I will be at my 6 mth surgeriversary next week..I'm gonna try to go back to the basics, liquids only for a few days to see if I can get my body to start loosing again..

I will hit my one year on may 18th. I've been stuck at the same weight since January. I've tried the 5 day reset, liquids, zero carbs, upping exercise. Nothing has made the scale move from 195 (sometimes it bounces up a few pounds!). I'm down 143 pounds but I'm still so far from 160, it's frustrating!

The last couple days my body has acted like it might start moving again. We shall see. I feel better seeing so many ^^^^ that have had the same problem. Our bodies may just be taking a wee break.

Did you guys always see the numbers dropping?

I'm almost 5 months post op and my numbers have been the same for a month. My nutritionist suggested I do liquids stage 1 for 2-3 days then stage 2-3 following. I know I haven't made very good food choices this past week but before that I was very careful

I get a little discouraged but I'm trying today

So far so good

Im hoping I can get through the next 2 days without giving into food

My numbers consistently dropped up until 6 months. After that its been slow going. I also had a 3 week stall at week 3 & at 3 months for over a month! Don't be discouraged into making bad choices. Clean up your menu & up the exercise, you will see some movement!

Thank you!!

I definitely will try as hard as I can.

How about feeling tired? Do you have days of fatigue? I've had about 3 days of feeling exhausted but honestly haven't done anything to feel this tired. Feel like all I want to do is sleep.

I haven't really had problems with exhaustion since I got my Protein & Vitamin levels up. How is your Protein & Vitamin intake?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
