I have had heartburn ever since I have had this surgery. Im 4 1/2 months out now. Talk to your dr. and see if they can prescribe you a PPI for the acid. I take it everyday and it makes a big difference. Good luck hope you feel well soon.

Same situation for me. Heartburn was a rare occurance prior to surgery. Now, if I don't take my prilosec immediately upon waking up I feel the acid start to rise up. I take prilosec twice a day and then pepcid if I have any breakthrough acid. I'm 3.5 months out from surgery so I'm hoping this goes away with time. I heard it's not good to take PPI's for very long....

I take a prescription PPI, never had an issue before. It's quite common because your stomach is so small now when you add food your stomach acid has no where to go but up lol. I'm under the impression this isn't a permanent problem but I'd talk to your doctor because if left untreated the damage can become quite serious

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
