Impatiently Waiting..... and waiting....

Recommended Posts

My surgeon's office told me that my insurance doesn't require pre-approval. I'm assuming this means that they just make sure my i-s are dotted, and my t-s are crossed. The surgeon said they'll call me with a date. I verified with the gals at the front desk because it seemed too easy. They have everything they need. It's just a matter of giving me a date! I am going crazy waiting. I saw them last on Wed morning. It's Monday!!! Why are they torturing me so?! Hahahaha!! I just need to vent to people who understand my pain.

I just need to chill. This process has gone pretty smooth for me. I just started in Mid January with my seminar. I guess I'm just worried it went too smooth! I hope you ladies get your dates soon!!

I feel your pain. I have been jumping through hoops since late Aug & my info was sent to BCBS last month & today I called & was told I was denied bc I didn't have a letter from my PCP saying I'm physically stable enough to withstand surgery. SERIOUSLY??? I have seen heart specialists & drs for 7 months & NOW I need a LETTER from the dr that referred me? Yah I cried. I actually had to gain some weight bc I "only" had a BMI of 35 & 1 co morbidity. Not the TWO that was required. I'm tired & I'm kinda depressed & I AM JUST READY TO MOVE ON & BE HEALTHY I hate that a insurance co is dictating my life right now ( or that's how it feels @ this moment). I wish everyone the best & God willing this will happen for all of us soon. I've been trying to stay positive but today is a tough one... (Sorry if I'm being a Debbie Downer)

Navyma, I am so sorry to hear that!! Isn't it horrible that insurance companies have so much control over our health? Get your letter and try again! You'll get approved once you do I'm sure. My first appointment with the surgeon's office was cancelled on me. The next available apt was 5 weeks later. I cried my eyes out, and just about gave up. Now look how fast things have moved for me. You're so close! Keep your chin up! :)

Ladies, you all are so excited and ready for surgery that it's contagious. Everything is going to work for each of you just as and when it's supposed to. I cannot wait to read your success stories by the time I'm ready to go in.

I've just had my 3rd of 7 required weigh-ins (blue care network). They're telling my date will be mid- to late-August. I was disheartened initially, even deciding not to have surgery. That decision lasted all of 1 day. ☺ After the seminar I thought I wanted the bypass but have decided on the sleeve. Fortunately, an acquaintance had the sleeve several months ago and looks absolutely fabulous!! We've talked and she's volunteered to coach me. She is so transparent and very excited for me. I'm glad during this waiting period my nutritionist is introducing the habits I required post-surgery. This change is requiring lots of prayer and I know I'll succeed.

Philippians 4:6 "don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done"....I live by this! Lol, I read it everyday! Keep your head up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
