Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Recommended Posts

Okay, back from NYC. The thing at the UN went GREAT!!! My son did a wonderful job and I felt my talk was fine and the documentary turned out really good. The trip was good too. Went to MOMA and saw a special Van Gogh exhibit, and we took a harbor cruise at night and saw all the lights of the city. It was fab.

Lotza', what's happening with your dad? Any new news? How are you holding up? How about your mom?

Munchie, did you date Starbucks dude last night? AND?????

Jaime, you are soo soo close. The next two weeks will fly by.

Brandy I'm so flippin' envious that you have a PS appointment. I'm just living for the day. I tell ya.

Marcy, I'm happy you're getting a doggie!! Yay for doggies! I'll try to think of cute name ideas!

miss dee - where are you, babe?

Denver, good luck at your conference. Eating when you go out of town is hard. I ate a whole list of bad stuff in New York . . . I'm scared to weigh tomorrow.

Tired, tired, tired. Must go to bed now.

Night, night lap band ladies!

Mini-that is AWESOME that your trip and your documentary went so well. You will have to let us know when we can all see it! I am so proud of you and your son! This is a very important step for mental health awareness and advocacy! I took care of a paranoid schizophrenic/bipolar pt last week and it was challenging at first for sure, but by the end of the weekend she told me she had never had another nurse like me, that I was the only one that had ever been so compassionate to her. That made me feel so good.

I did meet up with Starbucks dude. He is nice, but he is 16 years older than me, and I am kind of trying to get away from the whole older men thing after my husband (even though he acts like he is 4). Starbucks dude does LOVE his dog, which is a major bonus point in his favor!! He asked me to go out again next week to dinner, so we will see what happens.

Not sure about comedian dude-he can't take being teased. I was like, "WTH, you're a comedian and you get upset when someone teases you?" Umm, shouldn't that be a job requirement for a comedian or something? I can't hang with someone who can't take being teased because I am a teaser by nature....and it really breaks my heart too because he is adorable otherwise.

Jamie-Yes, it has been very slow here lately. We are not nearly as chatty as normal. Wonder why?

Actually, I was referring to LapBandTalk as a whole being slow. The whole website was lagging, it wouldn't refresh the screen very fast at all, and I've seen a lot of "double posts" from yesterday, which tells me they were having server issues. I wasn't talking about the Dr. K thread! Although it has been kinda quiet. But that's OK - sometimes life happens!

PS - Thx for adding me on Myspace Munchie!!!! I'm trying hard to think of a new name for you!

Starbucks dude loves his dog, and that's a good thing since you're such a dog lover yourself. But as you said, he's older, and you're trying to get away from that. Comedian guy is younger (which is a plus) but he's sort of a wimp - which isn't always a bad thing. Seems like you have been leaning towards Comedian guy since you met them both, so I say make it work with Comedian guy (if that's an option?) and tell Starbucks Dog Lover that you're just not ready for a relationship.

Sheesh, I sound like a shrink. Hello, I'm Dr. Jaime. That'll be $300.

Hi all,

Weighing in for the Halloween challenge. :lost4lbs:I lost 4 pounds this week. I am sooo excited. I love my band!!!!!!!!

HIGH FIVE!!!! That's awesome. Way to go!

Thank you Dr.Jamie. I'll have to give you $3.00, I don't have $300 after my very expensive bridesmaid/wedding gift/baby shower gift shopping day yesterday! :) I don't know if making it work with comedian guy is an option, I am putting the ball in his court now. ;) I do know I have come to far to settle for anything though!

I don't get all my liquids either. When are we suppose to drink them? We can't drink before or after meals and we are suppose to sip on Protein shakes! Gross! LOL I find myself living on a cup of coffee in the morning and crystal light the rest of the day. ;) Whoops! I am not sure Dr. K would approve. LOL

Thank you :) I have never been able to drink a lot so my body must be used to it by now. I must say though that my last trip to Denver sucked because I had altitude sickness so I will at least try to hydrate before those trips.

Sorry that I haven't been on in a while, just been lurking a little. Lots of family stuff going on.

I put on a pair of jeans this week. If you knew me you would know that I haven't worn jeans in almost 2 years because they were always uncomfortable and finding them in my size is a pain.

I am now fitting into a size 24!!! in JEANS!!!! And no big muffin top!! I was definitely a 26 pushing 28 and getting worse. Since I have been a slower loser this is a big deal for me!!

I desperately need a fill though.

That is awesome!! Good for you ;)

I'm so glad it went well!! It must have been so much fun!!

My dad is doing really well, and he is back at work and everything. He will start radiation treatment on his brain in a couple of weeks, and is taking injections for the other cancer. It's not chemo the doctor said it is more like a giant dose of white blood cells. So instead of making his immune system suck, he won't even need a flu shot. My mom is doing well too. It helps my parents that they have a new grandchild to distract them ;)

I didn't get to weigh myself today so I will just say yesterdays. I am down .5

it SUCKS!!! I need a fill REALLY bad! Since I am not going back to the last fill dr I had, and everyone else and their dog charges too much, I will be flying back to denver!! I am hoping to come the second or third week of Nov, depending on when dr.k has an opening. I might have to bum a ride from the airport as money is really tight. And $20 to pay someone's gas instead of $40 to take the shuttle would really help. Also I SO want to go to RR with ou guys, it always sounds like so much fun! So let me know when you are having your next one and I will try to get my fill that day.

Munchie

You are so right...do not settle. I think that is a very hard lesson to learn. Even though I have been married for 12 years, I sometimes wonder if I settled. Breaks my heart to think that. Although, I know that if anything were ever to happen, my list would be SO long that I don't' know if anyone would ever qualify...

Mini

Glad things went so well in NYC. Was it beautiful with color or was it past its prime? I want to go there so bad...just to go. Actually, I would love to do a cruise of New England...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
