constipation?

I'm 8 months out and believe I may be struggling with it. I have a bowel movement once or twice a week, and when I do, I have a horrific stomach ache that starts a an hour before and gets worse as I'm going. It is extremely difficult to go and feels harder than a normal movement. Has anyone encountered this problem and if so what can I do to make it better? A fiber supplement possibly? I'd like a long-term solution so laxatives and softeners are not what I'm looking for. Or do you think this is something greater than constipation? Help :/

Ok this is TMI but I feel so gross that maybe some one here will understand. I am on vacation right now so I haven't been drinking Water as consistently and I left my fiber pills at home. Well I hadn't gone in three days and I felt like Rocks were sitting in my stomach. Boy was I right. I just had the most painful BM and there was lots of bleeding. It was so much backed up and so hard I can't keep going like this. I don't want to get hemorrhoids . Before surgery I was very regular and now it's a pain in my ass' date=' literally.

Ok I will try you suggestions. Thanks. Sorry for the details.[/quote']

I'm with you Colemon70 - 13 days out. Mirilax. Broke down and bought Fleets Suppositories today. Geesh. I had irritable bowel syndrome before surgery. Now I have sleeping bowel syndrome. I sincerely hope that I do not explode :)

Highly recommend Dulcolax, it's a stool softener you should be able to find while on vacation. I know your pain!!! Good luck!
