OK, I'm 2 days post op and along with the sleeve I had my GB out due to it barely functioning. Anyway, I'm sipping Powerade zero and every time I do I can feel when it hits my new stomach and it HURTS!!!! Its only for a few seconds but damn!!!! I'm just in the "what the hell have I done??" phase I hope. Please tell me others have gone through this too!!! I have no idea how I'm gonna get all my fluids in like this!

I'm sorry you're hurting! I agree with the above post, try drinking something send me a request by email, tnhamil@hotmail.com or at least room temp. Cold Water hurt me for the first few weeks. Now it's fine. You will get thru this phase. Hang in there! And make sure you're walking to get rid of that gas! Congrats on your sleeve! It gets better! :)

You're definately in the what the heck stage. I'm 9 days out and feel a lot better. It may take months before we are truly happy with our decision, but I'm confident it will happen. This is so hard!!

After a week, my painful bubble drinking problem got much better. Walk. Don't lay when drinking. Experiment with other clears. Sf Popsicles! You'll get better EVERYDAY. And if you breakdown about your decision, just know that's normal!!!!!

It will! I remember thinking for the first week or two "what the hell did you do this time Laura"

Because lord knows I did some crazy stuff to lose the weight before! But at four months things are good, its the best crazy thing I've done :)

I am now 17 days post op but I so remember the day of my surgery. I had the most aweful feeling of what have I done. I felt life as I knew it was over. You start to feel as if you will never eat normal food ever again like social events are a thing of your past. I just kept praying and praying for gods help. I so badly wanted to get on here and scream don't do it don't do it. I'm glad to say things are much better. It gets easier day by day. I am now down 30 lbs and that's helps with the adjustment. Just take it day by day.

Hi Dand! At 2 days post-op I literally felt like I was trying to give birth to some alien in my belly. As the swelling as gas become less severe, the sensation you're describing should settle down. That said, you will be aware of how different types of things feel as they go down (which is a good thing). Take care and welcome to the Loser's Bench!

That's exactly how I feel now!! I've researched this like crazy and even hunted people down that I knew had it and picked their brains and it all just seemed the right thing to do. I know it'll get better (I hope!) and I'm looking forward to that time. I'm just ready for the pain and discomfort and weakness/tiredness to be gone!! And to top it off I have diarrhea!! Lol!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
