Mexico drs = NO diet pre op?

So, I'm most worried about not eating for 3 days prior rather then the actual surgery?! Which drs dont make u do it? And why do the others make u if its not entirely necessary??? I understand about shrinking the liver but I'm on the lower BMI end. I've asked my coordinator 3 times just to make sure I do have to do liquid diet for 3 days. Help please!

Down to 2 surgeons dr Ortiz at OCC or dr Pompa at limarp...help!!!

There is a lady here who had surgery the day after me. She was getting her sleeve re-sleeved. The 1st sleeve was a botched sleeve. She went with Dr. Pompa the first time and Dr. Aceves was fixing it. She told me once she starting call Dr. Pompa's group with her issues they stopped responding.

Thanks for the informative answer! I knew the diet was for shrinking but here in nz he wanted a 3 week Optifast one?!

That's what they do here in Canada (or Quebec, not sure if it's just our province). Supposedly it's quite disgusting, I'm glad I didn't have to do that :)

Oh wow!! What a nightmare. How long along was this ?

Re: Clear liquids as opposed to, let's say hot chocolate, which is a "full" liquid.

Clear liquids pretty much pass right through your stomach. Full liquids require digestion and stuff sits in your stomach longer. They are just trying to give your gut a rest before surgery.

BTW, we eat more buffalo/bison than beef and it's yummy!

Oh my word!!! I couldnt imaging paying for this TWICE and having surgery TWICE! Poor thing. This makes me sad for her. How horrible. I hope she shares her story.

I have also read on obesity help of a few people that went to Dr. Pompa and didn't end up with a sleeve, but a strange looking thing. I wouldn't take my chances. Also, when I contacted them to get a price quote on the sleeve, they quoted me $1,000 more than what they quoted my friend, who had called only one day before. In my opinion, not good business. I did write to them and told them how I felt about that and they offered me the same price as my friend. They said it was because they were running a special, and it ended the day before or something.
