  1. Haha I hate doing the flight home (was born in Toronto) but not being able to eat for 12 hours whilst smelling the lamb shanks was hard! The one time I fly prem econ and I couldn't enjoy the cuisine lol .. In Nz it would of been $17,000 and with the surgery in Mexico 6000 (single incision) plus stopping In LA for a few days either side of the surgery hotels & shopping I still saved about $6000! Plus the drs in Mexico do as many surgerys a in a week as a dr would here in a month or even more ... So I felt like I was in good hands
  2. Congrats tripletmom! I was also 30 BMI ... 3+ months out I'm so happy I've had it done, I have only lost 30lbs but I'm eating much healthier. Good luck on your journey x
  3. I'd be keen for a coffee one Sunday afternoon I'm in Remuera ...
  4. K you're acting like u have a copy of a sex tape!?!? Haha ... Can u please stop provoking people about the "evidence" that u have ... We went for dinner & stayed in touch after for a bit. End of story.
  5. That I wish I'd gone to cancun for surgery ...
  6. How weird we have a range of a few weeks to a few years?!?! That's not consistent lol ... I sure it's not great to become a full on alcoholic after surgery but a few drinks here and there should be ok .. It's prob a lot to do w empty calories too ?
  7. Last night I drank a whole glass of apple juice in about 20 min ... I don't seem to have a problem w the volume of liquids .. I find it very easy to drink ... I might have to learn to like wine! I hadn't eaten that much food (obviously) that day either. Before surgery if I'd eaten a decent sized dinner I couldn't get drunk - another reason I thought it would happen easier ...
  8. Don worry they're already experts at the surgery - this is only slightly different way of doing it. Imagine the first people who tried it the laparoscopic way compared when they used to just slice your whole abdomen open! Haha they must of been freaking out too! Don't worry it will be fine ... Don't over think it - you are in good hands and have SO MUCH to look forward to after x
  9. I'm alive!! So throughout the night I had about 8 shots of baileys & Midori (melon liquor) I was expecting to be way more effected then I was? I think it's a fairly soft alcohol ... So my cheap date idea didn't pan out hahaha .... I can't drink vodka & sprite (carbonation) I don't like beer & wine ... I'll see how I feel the next few days and try another kind of shot next time. You aren't supposed to drink because of stomach mucus still repairing itself (not sure what that does) ... So I'll just see how I feel the next few days before I venture out again - thanks for caring! x
  10. Great for a cheap night out! Lol
  11. I think 60-80 ... And I think u have to be under a certain BMI I was very low bmi ad had no problems at all ... No pain or nausea - i was up walking around the mall 4 days later like I hadn't had surgery 8 )
  12. And my surgery was $5500 ... It was Ready4Achange ... Great company - no complaints
  13. I just had the single incision w dr Garcia in May ... The scar is hardly noticeable! When I show people my photo of my stomach and the little scar I have from surgery, they are amazed !
  14. Lol I'm going to be an in demand date! Haha I tried a baileys shot as a test run tonight and felt fine. I thought that was a nice smooth drink to try first off .. I'm not going to get trashed - I'm not a big drinker. Just want to loosen up for a boogie on the dance floor - thanks guys for all the input! x
  15. When did people first have a drink and what was it? I'm 6 weeks and dying to go for a night on the town and try a drink ... Thanks
  16. They are very flexible and will make sure you are taken care of before u leave 8 )
  17. Haha I was born in Toronto but have lived in Nz for 20 years - where we don't tip! So don't quote me but: I tipped the bell boys 2 for heling w bags and would round up $2 on a short cab ride ... Got my hair done and tipped $4 ... When u eat out u leave %12 of the total bill for your meal etc .... When u change your money make sure u get lots of $1 & $2 dollar notes
  18. Hands off ladies - he's mine! Hahaha hes such a sweety
  19. I am a self confessed "princess" and was ready to organise an upgrade - but it wasn't needed. The room is actually lovely ... I hung out by the pool and it seemed to have sun all day ... Also a nice little Mall 5 min away. You'll have a great recovery there ... Also the bell boys are lovely, helpful & friendly
  20. I traveled from auckland Nz to TJ to have surgery w dr Garcia in May - people thought I was bananas ... But now I'm sure they're all jealous lol I have an AMAZING experience ... These Dr's do so many per day and 6 days a week - they are experts at what they do - just show them this site - I kept emailing my dad all the good reviews I found ... Finally he said "ok, I'll get on the bus, cause there's no point standing in front of it" I could NOT be happier I did it ... Good luck to you - remember u don't need to ask anyone's permission to do what u want x
  21. I loved the whole team! So happy w my choice 8 )
  22. My advice (I was there 3 weeks ago) drive to SD airport and park and have Samuel pick u up - TIJAUANA traffic / drivers are CRAZY!!! ... I was afraid to even be a passenger ... If your partner is afraid to fly - they'll be petrified to drive down there lol
