Life is about opening up our minds and hearts to love and understand others whether their lives or experiences are the same as ours or not.

You are a very smart man Dean...very open minded, sympathetic, understanding, and non-judge mental. I believe that is the kind of man His farther and i created in our son and I'm so proud of him on his 21st bday!!!!!!

I don't know about very smart :) , but I try my best to live all of the other attributes as best I can.

21 - I can only imagine what it will be like to see my kids at that age, young adults with their lives ahead of them.

Wish your son a happy birthday from VST - and congratulations to you and his Dad, I'm sure you've done a wonderful job!

*WITHOUT WANTING TO OPEN IT UP AGAIN*

A BMI of 30 is obese (just). If someone has made good attempts to get to a healthy weight and can't (like all of us) I say the sooner the better.

Well it was the most informed, intelligent, and positive comment made on this thread.

There were lots of people on our side - I'm appreciative of any who don't say I need mental help lol

This thread and others like it give all the reasons why I no longer come to this site. Thought I would just visit and see if things have changed, but no, it's still nasty, unsupportive and unwelcoming. Everything a site like this SHOULD NOT BE. A shame because there's some really sincere, nice people here.

How ironic... the very first post I put on here when I joined, you were all of the above to me "looking at India" I nearly left 30 min after joining

No irony there, just good advice, but it's apparent that you only see advice as good if it matches your ideas. I think you have been given a lot of good advice on here and if I were you I would seek counseling before I considered undertaking this surgery. It is clear that you have not taken any good advice onboard and consider yourself an expert in a surgery for which you have no experience and absolutely no idea what you are talking about. There, I have said my piece, back in 3 months to see if uneducated and inexperiencedcexperts like you have gone elsewhere.

I'm not going to read through the thread at what I missed. No need, since I know too well I'll have to say something and sometimes things are better off without my two cents. Plus.. I'm too lazy

Marvelous Monday morning too y'all

I can sum it up for you!!

It's an ongoing cluster f*ck.....

LOL... You mean you didn't come in "carrying a big stick to beat the dead horse" ?

Girl, this one is so off the rails, I couldn't even F it up anymore if I tried! :P

The "Fatties" thread was a sane conversation compared to this one :o

"an expert in a surgery for which you have no experience and absolutely no idea what you are talking about" this is my favourite part because when I asked for info from people who "had surgery in India" you jumped on with quite a few snarky judgmental comments w your uneducated thoughts on people going to India for surgery --- for which you had not had.

I don't know why u say I have not taken any good advice on board? I'm asking lots of questions on here to better prepare myself for what may come. NO ONE knows exactly how they will feel after this surgery all we can do on this side (pre op) is be as prepared for anything that comes our way. And thank's to BFL advice I will def look for a group or someone to talk to post op to use "more tools" that are offered to me and make my life/journey easier ... Can't wait to catch up in 3 months!
