Hi Carol, thanks for responding about Dr. Taylor, I think I picked a good one. What hospital did you do yours at? And I would love to do a BR group, kelew39@Yahoo.com.

Hey all, i was sleeved 7/22/14 by Dr. Lavin. All is well so far. I was hoping to see him at my 1 week post op appt but after reading the blog, I doubt ill be seeing him again through out this process. If i would not have met him that one time, I would think he is a phantom Dr. Lol.

Can anyone give me their opinions on Dr Merriman, Dr Thomas, Dr Bellanger, and Dr Hargroder? I would so appreciate it. I am in a weight loss study and can only choose from these doctors.

Good morning guys I am new here and my surgery is in the morning in Metairie with Dr lavin... I am so scared of how I am going to feel on Wednesday and for the days to follow. I can't seem to stop thinking about anything but the next time I will actually enjoy a meal and this all started yesterday. I have been doing so good lately and BAM it hits me like a ton of bricks! Any advice for a fellow sleever?

Dont worry about LAVIN, I have a couple of friends who used him and they said LOVE HIM!

They had no surgery related issues.

I had my surgery done with Dr. Taylor. LOVED him

Lets see on Wednesday, I think you will be groggy!

Make sure you follow Lavin's orders to the T and you will do good. I came home and never used any of my pain meds.

Just take your time and heal. Dont overdo it and it will be easy peasy.

And dont listen to your head, cause you might get head hunger but you can be strong

My insurance doesn't give me a choice but to use Ochsner Hospital. Dr Jeansone is the only dr in BR.

Good luck with Ochsner. They unfortunately screwed me over with my WLS, but glad they did because I found Dr. James Redmann and I couldn't be more happier! I am 1 year and 4 months out and am down 165 lbs. Good luck and glad everyone is doing well! ????

Hmm There are lots of Doctors in Baton Rouge that do WLS and good results.

I hope that you are happy with your surgeon and have faith that he will take care of business.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
