Hi there to all. I am new to the group. I have my lap band set for Jan 19, 2007!!!!!! I can't wait. That is my slow month and I am self employed. I am a pet groomer. I have planned to be off for 10 days. I hope that will be enough time. I am going to Dallas to have it done at the Preston Cardiolgy and Wellness center. I have to pay cash for mine and it is to be 11,000.00. I know that Dr Maese is one of the doctors but I do not know the name of the surgeron yet.

I am enjoying reading the post here and am learning LOTS!!!!!!!

Welcome Rene'! Congrats on your surgical date, the time will pass quickly, so make sure you gt everything ready!!! Hang out, and ask any questions you might have---we are a good support team here. It is kind of slow with the holiday, but hang out...it is so much easier with a good group of people who know all about what you are talking about band wise!!!

Once again--welcome!!

Kat

Hi Rene,

I'm new too and it is great coming on here and learning so much. I go into hosp on Mon 27th for surgery on 28th. My surgeon hasn't told me much at all so this site is a godsend.

Hope time flies by for you and it's Jan before you know it.

Hey Rene,

Good luck with your surgery! I had my banding done on Sept. 18, 2006 here on Long Island! Very Happy that I did it. I started out at 277 lbs when I was released from the hospital gained about 7 more lbs but that was because of all the fluids they fill you up with. Now I am down 27 lbs since then. Want to talk you can email me any time... Good luck!

Enjoy your holidays!!!

Hi Rene',

Congrats on your date! I'm in the Dallas area as well. I had my surgery done at the Surgery Center in Richardson (off of Coit).

Hi Rene, welcome to the lapband forum. You will be fine with the 10 days off. In fact, you may get bored! I was only off for 4 or 5 days and was ready to get back into the swing of things. Have fun the next few weeks before surgery. Once you are banded it will be a whole new life. Good luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
