First night with the cpap!

Recommended Posts

And I feel like I'm trying not to hyperventilate! Ugh! I have low apnea however because I have it I must use the cpap as all of you know! Only thru the surgery date! So I went with renting a brand new one! It's super nice and silent but I still have a huge thing on my face that my kitten thinks he needs to get! Hah! Ugh, wish me luck thru my first night!

What brand is yours? With mine, I thought I was going to suffocate. I adjusted the settings and set the air pressure a bit higher and it was great

I'm doing ok right now.. She set mine at a range right now. I just realized I'm breathing thru my nose for the first time in a long time tho! It's going at a 4 but my range is 6-12 it's recording everything so when I go in again for a restudy they will have an actual setting.

I did find out they should of done a split study tho. So I am actually going to talk to my doc as I don't think they did it right and I don't feel I should have to pay for 2 if they should of done this in one! But who knows!

I have a brand new Philips respironics remstar auto a-flex system one.

She also said to try and stay pre occupied for about 30-45 mins to adjust before wanting to actually fall asleep! So I'm playing on this and my phone! It will take an additional 45-60 mins for me to fall asleep after doing nothing! Lol.

That's the one that I have as well I believe. If needed, you can YouTube how to access the "secret" settings menu. You can tweak everything till it feels right

I'm 3 months out. Do you have to wait to be sleeved because of sleep apnea?

I was pushed out 2 months because of the sleep apnea. The waiting always sucks. I thought I'd wait forever

I totally understand, I had my sleep study while completing all my required things so I'm lucky it isn't effecting my date! Considering I am a band to sleeve revision I'm ready!!

I have severe obstructed sleep apnea (on cpap for less than a year now) but honestly can say it HELPS. I wake up wide awake. I am not sluggish during the day. I put mine on while watching TV before bed. It is such a tiny mask. Fits just around my nose. You will notice how much better you can breathe with it on. I LOVE it. I left mine on a flight once and had a panic attack when I realized I lost it. Thank goodness the airport lost and found had it :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
