Here's your answers:

1) know you? or know-you know you? I know the "you" that posts on this site. How you are off-line, I have no idea.

2)Not technically- I'm still working on my PhD. Have one more year left. Have a BA and a BS and an MS. In PSYCHOLOGY.

3)Yes, can read pretty well. In 3 lanuages, in fact.

4)Aren't you still posting?:rolleyes

Still recommending those anger management classes. Temper, temper.

Sorry, sunshine. I posted before reading your post.

I was in my own kind of way trying to stick up for others. I don't like bullies and so I often push back.

I'll be good now.

Tracyinks.....which hospital will you go too? My insurance requires me to go to Menorah....that's where I had the twins and also where the tubes were tied! I had good experiences with them so not concerned! Went today to get the Protein Powder, liquid tylenol, bandages, gas-x, etc. . Definitely counting down the days!!! Welcome and let me know how the seminar goes with Dr. Malley!

Hi all,

I'm heading to Mexico for surgery on the 15th, surgery on the 16th. I'm trying to pay attention and get some good advice to make all go smoothly. It is both scary and facinating to hear about others processes with this procedure.

Thanks Edieday! I wish you all the best as well!! I'll be thinkin' of ya!

Hi one and all,

I am glad to hear from angyl2314 (Jen) that her surgery went well. Thank you for keeping us posted. It helps so much when the bandsters who go before us tell us what they experienced.

Shesha and Donnalynncrain it looks like the three of us will be having our surgery on the same day. We're triplets! I wish you both all the best.

Now I have a quick question. I know that things can get stuck and on another thread I heard them talk about a PB (productive burp) to get the stuck item out. Is this a natural occurence or is there something we have to do to make it happen i.e. drink Water, lay down etc? Sorry if I grossed anyone out

Awwwwww, Come on ya'll...this is a stressful enough time for me, and alot of other people. We come here to destress, not have to put up with mud slinging!!! If at the very least; please take it off line, or have your account frozen!

I enjoy this board way too much to have a spoil sport ruin it for me.

Now chill, reead some good informational posts - and move on with it!

PS; I too am finishing my Masters...so this isn't coming from someone 'ignorant'.

Thanks Sunshine2,

Seems like some people doesn't like to leave well enough alone. If ya keep stirring up dog poop the more it will stink, if you leave it alone it will dry up. Now that's "the truth"!

Hey Sula, where in Mexico are you going? I'm having my surgery on the 16th too! If you are in Monterrey, maybe we'll run into each other.

Hi Pinky,

Yep, its Monterray for me. Dr. Sanchez' practice, but he's not doing the surgery. How about you?

The bad: Last night, I was really wanting some chips and salsa. Not many, maybe 4 or 5...I was mostly wanting the salsa. Usually, at night, I can eat pretty much whatever I want, but last night, I either didn't chew well enough or ate too quickly or too much...and after the 3rd chip, I was in the bathroom PBing. So much for wanting chips and salsa.

The good: Then, today, the scales reappeared from their hiding place. I weighed 177 (I was 178 before Christmas). I think it's about the only holiday season I've ever LOST weight. I'm now 2 lbs from my 1 yr goal. :) I'm very excited.

And more good: Stopped in at Old Navy to check out the sales. I used to HATE shopping for clothes and yet I'm finding myself doing it more and more lately. There's just something amazing about putting on a blouse, seeing curves, and thinking "Oh, cute!" instead of "Ick, I'm so fat." I'm consistently wearing size 12s now. I never wore 12s even as a teenager...and I'm still wanting to lose another 20 lbs. Can't imagine what size I'll wind up.

Some bad: 20+ years of obesity have definitely left some saggy skin. I can wear the low rise pants, but then there's some loose skin hanging out above the waist band. Oh well...loose skin is way preferable to rolls of fat, and there's always plastic surgery if it bothers me too much.

I'm really, really excited for all of you new bandsters and soon-to-be bandsters! :)

Cindy

I sit here reading these posts as I eat ettamens coffee cake w/ creamcheese AND a brownie mixed in with it...not that I am eating for size, I am PMS' ing and crave sweets during that time...but I figure..this is kind of my "last Hoorah" before my 1/31 surgery date...I dont want to have "pb"s and hope I dont bruise and hope my skin firms back up and want to go back to work in five days...this forum has been a godsend..I lay in bed at night and imagine what my clear liquid diet will consist of, then my smooth mushie diet..and imagine chewing and not drinking pop...so much to think about...I will certainly be hitting ya all up for tips as the day approaches...

Thank you Cinward2001!!

I am looking forward to it! I was in Lane Bryant today and I told one of the girls this won't be my store anymore, except to buy accessories. About three years ago I couldn't wear their fourteens, so I'm ready to feel like that again...right now I'm in a sixteen and if I sqeeze, jiggle and shimmy I can possible get in one or two pair of my size fourteens I have in the closet. I love Old Navy they have cute tops for the summer. Keep up the GREAT work!

Be BLESSED!

Dr. Roberto Rumbaut at the Obesity Surgery Center. It's really cool that it's the same place and same time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
