Hi, I read your post about your Dr using omnipaque....do you feel any difference from it? I was banded on Jan 30th, lost 20#s so far, two fills.

Thanks for your response!

The difference is that the omnipaque stays in place. It doesn't dissipate like the saline does. Physically, no, I don't fee any difference, but it does give me some peace of mind to know that it won't disappear. I've heard some people say that the omnipaque actually feels tighter than the saline does, but I haven't experienced that.

Now, for my good news!!! I've got a SV (scale victory)!!! I'm out of the 300's. This was my first mini goal, and when I woke up this morning my scale read 298.8. I was in shock. In fact, it took me a while to realize that the scale had stopped and wasn't still bouncing around the numbers. I was amazed...and scared to move, because I knew it was going to bounce back up. But I did it. I got off, and got right back on, and it still read 298.8. That's when the party began...LOL

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Congratulations:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Where is the party? lol. You should be very proud of yourself!

I'm with everyone else, on the restriction that likes to come and go. So far, knocking on wood, I haven't pb'd or slimed. Although, today, oh boy, it felt like something went down the wrong way. I figure I had first bite syndrome. I grabbed a glass of Water (which you aren't supposed to do if you're pbing or sliming, but my throat felt like it was on fire) and everything smoothed out. Nothing came up, and no sliming. I guess, I'm getting restricted to the point that I probably need to start drinking something warm before I begin eating in the morning.

I know exactly what you mean about being afraid to move or even get back on!! It was wonderful to say good bye to the 300's then the 290's, 280's, 270's and with any luck at all the 260's this week!! Each 10 pounds you leave behind there will be another glorious celebration!!!!

Congrats on your loss so far....looking forward to hearing more in the very near future!

Still here! I've kinda hit a rough spot lately. A bad time to disappear, I know. I've gained 4 lbs. I haven't been able to exercise because of that stupid asthma attack (but I start back tomorrow finally!). I also have been a little down about being sick and eating too much ice cream (i know, i know). So, hopefully I get back on track, and everything will turn around. I have an appointment with my nutritionist next week, and I'm also planning on going to talk to the psychologist again. I mean to take full advantage of my support team! :)

Yay - we have some more January Bandsters joining in.

Okay everyone, I have to share my NSV! I'm so happy, I want to yell it from the roof top! One of my goals was to buy a pair of low rise jeans, not too low, but lower than my "mom Jeans". Anyhow, this weekend I bought my first pair! The best news, they are not in the womens section, they were in the junior section, and you ready for this, a size 13! And, I actually look good in them. lol.

I'm wearing them today and I can't even tell you the compliments I got today. Its a brand of jeans called "cruel girl", I've been wanting them forever, but never could fit into them, the largest size they make up is a size 15 juniors. Anyhow, tried a pair on and they slid on like a great pair of gloves. I love them!

I took my before BFL challenge pictures in a bikini (just for my viewing purpose to see how much I improve in my stomach area). I took my 4 week progress shot this weekend and OMG, I can't believe the difference. I am still fat, and still wouldn't wear a bikini out in public, but the difference in my bikini area (stomach) is unbelievable after just 4 weeks. I still have 8 more weeks to complete this challenge, and I might be brave enough to share the 12 week shot with you guys - if you promise not to laugh. lol. Me in a bikini is pretty scary. But I really wanted to see the difference in my ab area and I'm seeing it.

The only area I still have problem with is my damn cellulite. Any suggestions on how to improve that? I'm hoping if I continue to lose some fat and exercise it will improve. Lord I hope so.

I am just so happy today in my jeans! I can't believe I am actually wearing a pair of low rise, cruel girl, size 13 juniors jeans....and I can even breathe in them! Didn't have to lay down and tuck and pull to get them on! LOL.

Exercise is paying off ladies, for those of you that haven't started, you have to do it.....start out by walking only, I did. Start slow and move up. Before you know it, you'll trade your food addiction to exercise - which is a much better addiction.

I hope everyone is doing okay....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
