The Reverse Diet!!!

At the heart of The Reverse Diet is the old adage eat like a king for Breakfast, a prince for lunch, and a pauper for dinner,

The Reverse Diet is a weight loss plan that focuses on changing the times of day when you consumme your calories. The large number of calories that are consummed in the evening at dinner are reversed with the low number of calories that are consummed at breakfast. This simple switch or reversal will significantly effect how your body uses calories. Breakfast is normally followed by an entire day of physical activity where the calories are burned, while dinner is normally followed by a long period of inactivity.

There is no rocket sceince here, only basic, sensible low-fat nutrition used in a more efficient manner. The main drawbacks are practicality if you have a family or other constraints. Also, most people don't have much of an appetite in the morning. The third drawback, and perhaps the biggest, is the long-term viability of such a strategy. Do you plan on following such a regimen indefinately? If not, you fall into the common curse of diets and weight loss programs: once the diet ends most people slide back into their old ways of living and the weight comes back. Having said all this, you could do much worse in choosing a weight loss plan than the Reverse Diet.

So, we say, we already had our big meal in the morning, if we are meeting for lunch our reverse diet lunch is Soup and dinner is the smallest meal of all!!!

I give this one a thumbs up!!!:P

My doc said that for a desk job he'd take a week off, physical labor job no less than two weeks. He also said some of his patients get the surgery on Thursday and go back to work the following Monday (this is what I hope to do)

I had surgery on Tuesday and went in to work for an hour on Friday and then 5 hours on Saturday. I felt fine! I think it depends on how much you get up and walk around right after surgery!!!

Good luck to you.

I had surgery on Wednesday and went back to work on the following Tues. I have to walk a lot at work and could have used a few more days of healing! But I survived! Good luck everyone!

I wanted to clarify my comments about me taking 2 or 3 weeks off work, the only reason I'm taking off that long is because I can. I might come back at 2 weeks, but my company pays 100% of your pay up to 16 weeks off of work. And I figure, if I got it, might as well enjoy some time off! Plus, this will give a chance to be off liquids and be on mushies before returning to work.

I know my friend was back to work in 5 days. So I think a week would be okay to take off. I'm just taking a little longer so I can enjoy my time off :)

You will be glad you took off the extra time. That is wonderful that you will be paid while off. This is a time to pamper yourself, allow for maximum healing, and begin your new bandster life.

Congratulations!

Tulip

Sunshine2,

I'm in the same boat; my company will pay up to 16 weeks. I would definately want to be on AT LEAST mushies to get back to work. And I want to see how my sugars are affected with just liquids the first two weeks, and how eating less affects how I feel. It's all so new to me; and I don't want to take any chances.

Tomorrow is my PRE SURGERY CLASS!!!!!!

I received a call from the sleep study center and they have my 2nd sleep study test results back. They said the doctor is recommending 12cc's of air/oxygen per night and the national average is 8-10 cc's, so I'm just slightly above average.

Marjon9 - what does this mean exactly? I know your having surgery today, so when you get back and feel up to it, maybe you could explain this.

Anyhow, I'm headed to pick my cpap machine up and they will show me how to work the thing, and clean it etc. She said I should heal faster with the machine.

Today, Pinky12202 (Linda) – ,Marjon9 – Sula (Shawn) – Reesh - Not sure if Reesh is having surgery, she mentioned that the doc was putting off because of some blood work test??? Reesh, how are you?

Lets keep our bandsters in our thoughts today. I know you guys will do fine, we can't wait to hear from you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
