Cheese burger....?

Recommended Posts

So I work in a fast food place for my (Cali people I work at In-N-Out burger) it's been so hard not having a burger or a FF or even some coke but today was the day.... I had just a cheese burger wrap in lettuce nothing on it, it was so gooood :) I've work here since I was in high school and had a burger every day I work since 2004 surgery dec 4 2012 was my last day eating one I feel like my stomach missed it so much now should I go back to my daily temptation or give it up? I know that this was probably the main reason i gain all the weigh but I love our burgers so much what todo ?

Take it one day at a time. I went through the same thing with Taco Bell. I loved everything on their menu that I got depressed thinking I could never have it again. I took it one day at a time, forced myself not to go there after work like I normally would. After about a month post op I decided to try a taco from there. It didn't taste the same at all, in fact it was terrible, and that was the end of my Taco Bell habit.

I've had In N Out post op. Just a plain cheeseburger and I can only eat about 1/4 to 1/2 of it. But I can have it. And you will too but in much smaller quantities and not every day.

Start bringing food to work with you. Carrot sticks or celery. Protein shake. Something that will fill you up so you don't go for a burger everyday.

You can do it!

OMG I love In n Out's dauble double cheeseburgers.....I still have one but can only eat 1/4th of it. It is so calorie packed and I had tried it without the bun but it was really messy. I hate messy foods when out. you won't be able to have a burger for quite awhile after surgery. You might not even want one either....However this is the time wo focus on healthy eating habits. Need to cut out the breads, pasta's and rice for a while. It really important to cut out the sugars in your foods too. I like to eat a lot of Soups, nuts, chicken, beef (tender and juicy) and carnitas. Good luck it's very tempting to work at In N Out! It's yummy. :)

Find a new job?? :P

But short of that I would ask yourself can you stop at just the cheeseburger or is that going to lead you into temptation of French fries and soda.

If you think that you can handle a cheeseburger once an awhile and stay away from the others that's great!

Perhaps the burger without the cheese? I am in California, but have never been there. the cheese that fast food restaurants use tends to be not very good.

I hear ya. I was actually a chef (for a pretty decent restaurant). I am also my own worst enemy, a lot of my weight problems had to do with my job and a lot of other personal issues. My weakness, like yours, is a good old cheeseburgers :D . I really had to work hard to get my head in a spot that I could work around food and not get really stupid. Working bad hours, under a lot of stress made it easy to munch and go. Just keep in mind your goals and what you want to accomplish from this surgery. A couple of good burgers here and there probably won't do much to throw you off track, but just keep it perspective and throw in some healthy eats along with it. I decided that food like that was something that I can't do for right now, and that I made a real commitment to eat as healthy as possible. but that's the decision that I made. Down the road, I will probably grab a burger or better make my own, but for now, I am working the plan. Hang in there :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
