I don`t know if you can or cant stretch out your stomach but i bet most peoplegain liquid calories denial. my friend had a lap band 2 weeks before i did and she is 30 pounds heavier now. she always says she doesn't know how because she can't eat anything. she doesn't think her 44 ounce cokes and jumbo sonic blast everyday is the problem. her pouch isnt stretched either. i think some people go to liquid calories and fool themselves about it. it's not a miracle - we still have to put in the hard work and be accountable.

That's it Bucky. It won't stop people from being self destructive, if that's what they want to do.

I hear a lot about people cheating with milkshakes and it just boggles my mind that there's people that have milkshakes that often. I might have 2 during Shamrock shake time and maybe 1 over the summer if I get a big craving.

she frustrates me but u can only lead the horse to Water. she is always going to start her diet on Monday. sorry but having WLS is well beyond the "diet" mentality. i eep telling her to get the band deflated and quit torchering herself but she doesn't want her dr to see her weight gain.

sorry about spelling but I'm on my kindle and cant figure out how to turn off this auto word stuff.

i am a believer in have what u want but be accountable for it. i will have a slush once in a while but the calories still count. my friend eats more then she wants to admit. we went for a weekend last month and she bought Snacks (chips and candy) for the car ride. she got up all night long and ate junk food. it was so weird that we were on such opposite ends since we both had a lap band at that time.

It takes a while to hit your stride, post surgery. The high of 'OMGGETTINGREADYFORSURGERYOMG' is all done and all that's left is healing and getting used to a new life. Add to that all the changes in your life and it can be cause for some ups and downs. I am coming up on week 8 and finally feel really happy and settled with my sleeve. I can eat normal foods, I am working out, the weight is coming off, my clothes are hanging off my body.

I know it doesn't seem like it, but it gets so much better. I read about people saying that and didn't really believe them. Everyone thinks they will be different... now I know they were all right.

Hang tight, follow your surgeons plan. Head down, aim for your goals. Time will move faster than you think it will.

Yes life is sooo much better after surgery and after u can eat normally. Its so wierd how life doesnt revolve around food anymore, its so awesome! I could care less if i ever eat and i dont even like all the stuff i used to like, ie pizza, cheeseburgers, cake, ect. My only problem ive noticed (my wife and kids notice also) is i get mad easier, more quickly. I dont understand it cause im soooo happy with everthing. Im not sure if my kids get to me more or if lack of grehlin has anything to do with it. Im sure it will pass tho.

Shucky, I agree with you about the liquids. I have two friends who were sleeved at the same time three years ago. Both had spectacular weight loss really quickly. But since, one has gained back about 30 pounds of the 90 she lost. The culprit: wine. I imagine shakes would have a similar effect. I am only 6 days out but I can already easily drink 8 oz quickly. I have no idea what will happen when I am able to start softs in a week.

I am with you 100% I went to Starbucks Yesterday and brought a CARAMEL MACCHIATO fooling myself into believing I could use skin milk instead of breve, I did, When I got home and saw the calorie count that was my last sip of that drink I gave the rest to my fiance I was not even half way through the drink, I did not come this far to destroy my hard work to heck with that! Water ONLY for me. I'm sure one day I can enjoy a cup once a month but that day is not now and I want to get to my overall goal its nice making my short term goals but the overall one is what i truly seek!

I have been a bag of emotions, sad, happy, angry and I know its due to not being able to use food as comfort. Usually I would run to food to help me but now I have to face everything without any food and I have to say it feels good to have raw emotions that I wont be able to hide with a bag of chips. if I cry then I cry and get it over with, if Im angry I go for a walk. This is my new life dealing with it without any filters, I feel more honest now with myself than ever before. when I have my down days I have them and just ride them out.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
