Got my surgery Date - December bandster

Recommended Posts

As my surgery date gets closer, I start thinking more about whether or not I should do this. I finally got my answer last night when I was going through old pictures. I was fat in each and every single picture, no matter when it was taken. Enough is enough...I am done with that. Ready to move on. 23 more days. Thank God for the holidays...hopefully time will pass quickly.

Stacy

Your day will be here sooner than you think. I remember the waiting and being told I need to gain 10 more pounds, and God knows how many more health problems before they would consider me. DH and I decided we would pay for it ourselves. It is a large amount to come up with this time of year, but thank goodness my family understands that Health is the best gift. We are ready for the holidays, bring them on!

I am 4 days out from surgery. Honestly they were tough days, but it is better today. I was lucky and never got the nausea and the gas was pretty easily dealt with. I was surprised by the chest discomfort but I kept taking the medication the first few days and ice helped. I found it hard to differentiate between hunger pain and post surgery discomfort. I am really understanding what everyone means when they talk about learning how to be at one with your new stomach. I am having trouble getting my Protein and liquids like I should....but it is better everyday. As long as I can say that I am going in the right direction. My clinic goes with pureed mushies and accompaning Protein Powder right after surgery so that is where I am at for 3 weeks. I don't go back to work for a couple weeks and I am glad as I really need to put some things in place to make it work in the busy enviornment of my work place. I get so much reassurance from the posts of others who have made it through this portion of "the journey" and are doing well in lap band world. I wish all the December Lapbandsters luck and I'll be with you all the way.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
