How many calories should I be eating at 2.5 week? I have been eating 550-600 and not sure if it is enough or not enough...

I've been told I need 1000 calories a day. Yeah right! The most I've been able to eat was 900 calories, and that was just one day, and I had to force the food down. I'm trying to get in my calories...its tough!

I can't get in anymore than 600 calories either. One time I got in 800 but I was forcing food. So I don't worry about calories anymore I just eat right and thats it!

Update: I am at day 14 now and I can eat about 1000 calories a day. I'm focusing on overall nutritional value vs. calories. I'm just making sure that everything I put in my mouth has a good amount of Protein, Calcium, Iron etc... I am at 15 pounds lost in 14 days.

I have already advanced to soft foods. I am pretty much eating solids, just chewing them up really well. I start my day out with a Protein Shake or bar (if the bar I chew chew chew!), I can have things like chicken salad and crackers for lunch and dinner. I still eat Soup, chili, cottage cheese, and greek yogurt. I have added salmon, string cheese, mashed potatoes, refried Beans (sometimes I eat the insides of a bean and cheese burrito). I have not allowed myself to try much meat yet, no beef at all, and no raw veggies still. Occasionally I will throw a handfull of berries in my smoothies. I have not been sick once since my surgery, no throwing up at all. My sleeve seems to be handling the solids very well.

Oh, and I've also been able to eat a little bit of Pasta with no problems.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
