Sannah,

Thinking of you this morning, as I'm sure all of us are... It saddens me that you have had another setback. I really do pray that you hear some good news soon. I know this tough for you, but you will get better, I just know it, and you will have a full and wonderful life with your husband and Venla.

I just got results from the hida and ct.

Good news is that I don't have a leak or abscess. :) I am so happy for this!!!

But my gallbladder isn't really functioning. It jas to come out. Also both my right and left kidneys have stones. At least one stone isn't obstructing the kidney. All three doctors are doing to talk and one will call me first thing in the am with a plan. Looks like I need to find a nephrologist to help with the stones. :(

I am having alot of mixed emotions. So HAPPY to not have a leak. But so bummed and frustrated with needing gallbladder surgery. Kidney stones. Hopefully they are all small enough that I can pass them alone and not need surgery on my kidneys too.

I know there is a silver lining and that I will find it. But this is hard news to take. I want so badly to be healthy and not need medical intervention.

It bothers me to keep putting my support system through all of this. I also don't want to endure anymore.

Thank you everyone for messaging me. I am happy when i read the messages of support abs all your kindness.

Sannah,

Hi there... Well your body wants to get 100% healthy doesn't it :) it's taking care of everything right now so you can recover and be healthy and happy from here forward.

Now about those stones.... Grrrrrr.... Painful lil buggers.... Get them zapped/broke apart into tiny fragments while you are in the hospital... Then once they are broke up tiny into particles your iv lines will push thru lots of good fluids to push them out! Ask them to do this while you are there... Before your gallbladder removal or under the same anesthesia they can shock wave them and get that gallbladder as well.

Oh it would be so good if this could be arranged as I know you want to minimize your hospital stays.

Request a consult with a urologist/nephrologist and general surgeon. I bet they can master up a good plan for you. All the iv fluids are really going to help your kidneys.

I'm keeping you in my prayers!

After this you are going to be fabulous! Just you wait and see xoxo!!

:)

Sannah...a lot to take in just when we thought you had the green light to get on with recovery!! I am also glad it is not another leak, and hopefully you'll have an easy cholestectomy (removal of gallbladder). I had mine out and it wasn't too bad, but I do know the kidney stones take more work because they remain as functioning organs, whereas the gallbladder isn't critical to our regular functions, it is basically a holding tank for bile and the digestion of fats. In some ways I wonder if it might be better for them to remove the stones surgically while you are under anesthesia...or do the percussion therapy to break those stones down so they pass, sometimes they even install a stent (I know you hate that word) from the bladder to the urethra to allow them to pass easily. Gosh darn it!! Our thoughts will be with you darlin!!!!

Hi Sannah,

I'm so sorry to hear you have to have another procedure! When it rains it pours!! I always say "this too shall pass" but it's hard not knowing WHEN it will pass. You are young and obviously strong. You can do this! Focus on all the wonderful healthy things you and your family will be able to do together when this is all over.

Stay strong my friend!! Prayers!

I'm so sorry for all that you've gone through with your leak.

Gall stones and kidney stones are pretty common with patients who have had WLS. I had to have my gall bladder out 9 months post op and I just had kidney stone surgery a few months ago. I just hope I don't continue to keep forming kidney stones.

I was told to drink a lot of lemonaide, as citric acid is supposed to prevent kidney stones. I drink crystal light that has citric acid in it.

Hello all,

How are you doing? I hope you're doing great!!!

I wanted to write back to each of you, but currently feeling super miserable. I am back at the hospital for an upper GI and to get my kidney function checked out.

I am taking pain medicine and meds to stop the nausea and vomiting. They are barely taking the edge off.

I will keep you updates. Thank you for all your kind words!! They warm my heart during these hard times.

Best,

Sannah

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
