Bottom photo is a picture of the leak. You'll see dark spot I am pointing too. This was at the time of my first stent placement. The stent migrated down and I required a second procedure.

I just posted these incase anyone was curious what stents look like.

Hope you were able to tolerate your pureed squash. How about some hot Cereal like cream of wheat or oatmeal? I am happy you are under a cardiologists care now. Nothing but the best Sannah!

It is so amazing that you are so transparent about all of your complications! So many people can and are learning from your experience! I wish you the best in your continued recovery and hope and pray it will be smooth sailing from here!

Hello!!

Oh dearest Katie!! I always look forward to your messages!! I love and am thankful for suggestions. I am so happy and appreciative to eat, but I don't know what I like anymore. So I am adding oatmeal and cream of wheat to my list :)

I also had some refried beans!! Oh my goodness!! So yummy!! :). Everything is sitting good.

I feel a bit nervous about eating. I think this just might be natural to feel. I NEVER want to endure any of my leak experiences again. So I am taking it slow and trying to apply all the advise I have received.

It's so fun to think about eating. Thank you for writing me and "listening" especially about how nervous I feel to eat.

I hope your day was amazing!!

Have a restful nights sleep!! :)

Best,

Sannah

Good evening!

Firstly, I want to thank you kindly for the well wishes. They really propel me through the real hard or painful times. :) It is truly amazing for me to have this type of support.

I am glad I can share openly and honestly. It's been a tough road and I am only making improvements. :). It's exciting for me to feel more independent. I still require more medical care than I would ever prefer, but it's only up from here. :).

If ever I can help others I will. I want to offer any support I can.

Wishing you Wellness,

Sannah

WOW Sannah, I take a couple of days off to wallow in the frozen tundra (ok I had work in Alaska) and you go and get all better on me :P Look at you girlfriend!!!! You're rocking the mashed foods LOL

I totally get that fear you have BTW. I was so afraid to progress because I didn't want the leak to open back up or something. I think that's natural and you'll get over it. I actually did ok going to purees, but was scared to death of the next couple of steps. Mind you I had that claw thing in me for six weeks so I was fearing that it would open daily LOL

I'll check back later but I must say it's good to read the positive vibes in your posts now darling. Woo Hoo!!! You're gonna make it baby!!!!!

Sannah...oh gosh yes, I remember refried Beans while starting on pureed level foods. Funny, now I can eat anything but remembering that feeling of being able to have something other than liquids was devine. I agree, go slow. eggs were very hard to tolerate in the beginning for me so hot Cereal hit the spot for Breakfast. I would start the day with Decaf chai tea and take my PPI wait the 30 minutes and have hot cereal with milk on top. In the beginning you can make it as thin as you can tolerate, or just do it by adding more milk. Great with a little cinammon & sweetener. Mid morning I would have my first Protein shake and my Vitamins, I like the Pure Protein in Frosty chocolate (made with Water in the shaker bottle, not blended because it gets too thick and frothy, hard to get down). lunch would usually be Soup, thick and creamy or maybe yogurt. After lunch, some MIO iced tea, sip, sip, sip...mid afternoon another shake...then dinner, refried Beans with cheese, ricotta bake, mashed potatoes w/chicken gravy and I would add canned chicken as it is very soft, chili beans (pureed).....evenings...SF Jello or pudding, maybe a cup of SF hot chocolate. As you move to soft foods, crock pot meals are perfect.

Small portions, try and measure a few ounces at a time, and stop as soon as you feel the slightest bit full or no longer hungry. It does not take much to fill your new little tummy.

At 10 months out I am still amazed at my restriction level...and I love it !!!

Have a beautiful day!!

Sannah,

Thank God! I'm so glad to hear things are turning around for the best! Hooray to you for FINALLY being able to eat some real food!!!! :) I'm doing a happy dance for you also!

You are so strong and brave to have gone through all you have been through and still remain in good spirits. Your outlook had always remained positive.

Take it slow and all will be fine!

I wish I was up in Alaska!! I love the cold and snow!! Enjoy a little bit for me. I hope everything is going smoothly!!

Yes, can you believe it? I am eating puréed food? Isn't it crazy!!! I had refitted black Beans. This am I had ground turkey sausage and gravy. So. Sounds like this fear is normal? I had the stents for six weeks and the was supposed to get that claw. I can only imagine a different set of emotions come with the claw. I would be worrying daily if it moved or came undone. Did you? We're you aloud to eat with the claw in place? That would be scary!!! Have a photo of the claw?

Yay!! I am so going to make this!! I have this!! But I couldn't have done with our all of you guys!! There is just no way!! I really need this kind of support. You guys know what the sleeve and or leaks are like!!! I can't thank you enough!!!

Don't work too hard!! Have a little fun!!

Best,

Sannah

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
