I have heard the debate back and forth about whether or not sleeve patients get dumping syndrome like bypass patients do. I am not really sure what to think but here is what has happened to me.

On Christmas eve we made Cookies for "santa" and i sat down with my daughter as she had a cookie before bed. I decided to have a tiny piece. That piece turned into a whole cookie. I was 4 1/2months post op at the time and quite frankly, this was my first slip up since surgery. I didn't need to beat myself up for it, my sleeve did that for me.

I threw up, hot flashes, cold sweats, heart racing, shaking, and laying on the floor. It didnt "hurt", but it was something I couldnt control.. The entire episode lasted about 20-30 minutes.

Needless to say I will not touch sweets. Ever again. Scared the hell out of me!!!

I still get that at 10 months out.

Had a sip, just one sip of amarula,a caramel liquer and I felt I was going to die.And it didnt happen a while after I had the sip, almost immediately I started feeling bad.Nausea, racing pulse and I was also up with a runny tummy for a couple of hours after that.

Na-a,Im staying away from sugar.People can believe what they want about do we dump or not.I do!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
