confused with Tijuana drs. cabrera garcia; fernando garcia; dr kelly help

I am confused I really need to just make a decision. I like Dr. Kelly but christy with Mexico bariatric center gave me quote on him and Dr. Garcia I don't see Dr.Garcia on their site. But alaina and Cecilia from wlsclinic said no one can get Dr.Kelly except her its false advertising but Dr Kelly doesn't do surgery at mi doctor he would do it at a smaller hospital through wlsclinic. So who is honest? So I went to alma at ready 4 a change with Dr. Fernando Garcia still at mi doctor hospital and that seemed good and legit but I thought drgarcia is the one with an asst I read about but that turns out to be through medical tourism I learner of Dr. Ismael cabrera Garcia with asst. Dr. Louisiana valenzuela Sanchez at mi doctor. I want to go to mi doctor I think but I'm confused on legitimacy and who is best for me thanks k

My husband, daughter and myself went with dr.fernando Garcia. Him and his team were amazing and mi hospital was lovely. You can book dr.garcia through ready 4 a change or through medical tourism. And the Marriott hotel is wonderful. Good luck with your choice.

Hello,

I just had the gastric sleeve surgery with Dr. Kelly this past Wednesday (Jan 9,2013) and I booked through Christy at Mexico Bariatric. The surgery was performed at Mi Doctor Hospital. Let me say that my path to getting the surgery with Mexico Bariatric was relatively simple, I filled out the questionnaire on the Mexico Bariatric website after researching who I wanted to perform my surgery and was going to engage Dr. Cabrera. However the date I wanted wasn't available and Christy suggested I research Dr. Kelly. As it turns out he is more experienced and lettered in this field than my original choice. I then decided to book with Dr. Kelly through Christy, sent my deposit of $500 to reserve my date and paid the remaining $4500 prior to the actual event. While I was at Mi Hospital I was also with patients of Drs. Cabrera and Garcia they were on the third floor I was on the fourth floor. Dr. Kelly is highly skilled, super efficient, and the major difference I noticed when comparing notes with other patients is that Dr. Kelly doesn't use a drain while the patients of the Cabrera and Garcia all had drain tubes. I don't believe you will go wrong in choosing any of these three, I believe Kelly might be slightly more expensive but for my comfort level I gladly took on the extra cost. Mi Hospital is a small, relatively new facility. The operating room was top notch, my room was simple, clean and more than I expected by its modern look. Someone came through and cleaned my room, mopping, etc, every day. The nurses were all caring. Please do not expect them to all speak English, but pain is universal and easily understood so don't let that stand in your way. My entire experience including the top notch Marriott we stayed in was pleasurable. Christy was exceptionally helpful in assuaging any concerns I had about coming down there, I live in NYC but travel the country weekly for work so I have seen the good and the bad when you end up at an unexpected location or situation. What is all comes down to is I went with my gut and chose Mexico Bariatrics based on my research and thoughtful conversations with Christy about the experience I wanted to have. I'm 5 days out and down 9 pounds. I wish you the best in your choice.

I was sleeved 11/8 with Dr. Fernando Garcia he is as sweet as pie as is his team. I also booked through Ready4Achange and their support and service was 110% I was very happy and would book everything the same way in a heartbeat.

Good Luck with your choice and surgery :)

When dis Dr Kelly start using coordinators again?

See that is why I am confused, so many people on here said Dr. Kelly doesn't have coordinator, and Cecilia Reyes from WLSClinic said he doesn't use coordinators that she is directly connected with him and anyone else who claims to "use him" is "False Advertising" exact words. I like Dr. Kelly's credentials, love that I may not have a drain tube!! Christy with Mexico Bariatric Center says she does have Dr. Kelly and at Mi hospital (which I also heard through the vine he doesn't do surgery there) Christy told me she doesn't know why I am getting misleading info but she is a coordinator for Dr. Kelly and I can schedule him at Mi Hospital, I'm worried if I pay the extra for him its a bait and sitch or I am questioning the integrity of someone, Cecilia or Christy they both can't be telling the truth. I like what I read from lilolme said and its up to date she just had hers, and I just wish I heard a few others saying the same thing. Thanks for any help with this confusion

Dr. Kelly quit using outside coordinators about April last year. He started having his wife & an in house coordinator. However I suspected when he started that as a practice that it wouldn't be a permanent arrangement. A good coordinator is very hands on & worth their weight in gold. So it wouldn't surprise me if he were employing coordinators again.

How do you get ahold of Dr. Kelly now?

Do you have numbers and his website?

I think they're likely both telling the truth. Kelly just started working with MBC. Cecilia is likely just out of the loop.

Thanks now I think I have an understanding, I am just a little scared going out of country and something going wrong! I definitely got my question answered and am ready, think I'm going to go with Dr. Kelly like his background, going with Christy thanks guys I'm looking at March 20!!!!

I know his in house coordinator (Omar) left to work for his assistant surgeon (Dr. Illan Fraijo at Baja Bariatrics). While I had a great experience with Dr. Kelly and Omar, they weren't incredibly organized, so it doesn't surprise me either. I know that I started getting phone calls from a lady recently to check and see how I was doing, so I am not sure if Omar was replaced or if Dr. Kelly started using coordinators.

I decided to go with Dr. Kelly due to his experience and the excellent reviews I had read from others. I was not disappointed. I had not complications with the surgery, and I have had great success. What made my experience in Mexico go so smoothly was having Omar as his in house coordinator. I feel a little lucky to be able to have my surgery at a time when Dr. Kelly wasn't using outside coordinators, so I didn't have to worry about all the confusion that come with coordinators.

The coordinator stuff is all confusing and I have no idea what is going on with that except that Omar is with Dr. Illan now. I had surgery with Dr. Kelly @ Mi Doctor in August (even though he usually did surgery at Florance Hospital). My experience was great, much like what the others have posted. In an effort to not be long winded (like I usually am), I will just say the surgery and care were wonderful. My recovery smooth and I have had no issues and they still check on me periodically. My only complaint was that they were a little unorganized as Sunny stated but they were always there to quickly answer for every question or concern before and after surgery. The best example of how I feel about my experience with Dr. Kelly is this...I am super uber close to my hubby. He most cherished person in my life, my love, best friend, confidant and has been for 13 wonderful years. My greatest fear in life is something happening to him. (Its pathetic how much I worry about that really.) He is getting sleeved later this year and I would only trust him to Dr. Kelly just because of my super smooth experience even though I am sure there are many skilled surgeons. With Dr. Kelly's extensive training and background I feel if something were to go wrong he would be able to handle it and that puts me at ease. I know there is disorganization and coordinator issues but I believe those are all minor compared to my trust in Dr. Kelly.

It is confusing. I was dealing with Omar, he left. Now someone named Alina is answering the emails (same email address as before). So, I guess since I plan to stick with Kelly, I'll just go with the flow and figure out who is who after I get there. {Shrug} As long as I'm not left standing in San Diego airport, I'll be ok. Lol

I had surgery with Dr Kelly 9/22. I am pretty sure Cecelia Reyes is his wife and her English is not that great which would possibly lead to confusion regarding coordinators. I did have a drain (for what it's worth) because I was a revision surgery. The drain was more annoying than anything and did not hurt at all coming out. I had minimal pain and an easy recovery. Hope this helps.

When dis Dr Kelly start using coordinators again?

All I know is because of some things that happened while I had surgery with dr Kelly, Omar winded up going to work for another doctor, so maybe that's why he decided to go back with coordinators? I had a great surgery experience, but everything else after when it came to dealing with dr Kelly and his wife was very unprofessional and that's all I'm saying. I had a bizarre negative post experience, though my post op I've been fine, I don't feel I have the post care. Cecelia IS dr Kelly's wife.

Lucky you...regarding getting calls being checked up on. I had surgery 8/22 and Omar was the only one that acted like he gave a hoot about me.
