I think my nightmare has come true.....

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on May 15th. My starting weight was 240 after two weeks liquid diet I was 225 now two months out I am 194.5 total lost is 45.5 lbs. I also stalled for 3 weeks. However I continue to walk 3-5 miles a day. I have gone from a size 18 to size 12. A lot of inches! I did not measure myself cause I don’t want to drive myself crazy. I just eat right and ignore a lot of this because if you don’t you will go crazy. People are constantly telling me how much weight I have lost. Exercise is the key! I also weight lift. I eat no carbs. I drink Decaf coffee black. I’m very strict. Hang in there it will come off.

Hey Kelly,
My doc did not give a specific calorie number so I have no idea where I'm supposed be. Some people here on VST are only getting 300-400 at this stage, while others were told 600-800 and others 1000-1200. Everything is so ambiguous....it's frustrating because I have no idea what's the right amount of carbs or calories at this stage. I'm averaging about 800 right now. I do have a tough time getting in enough Water but since I switched to plain Water with just lots of lemon and some Splenda I'm doing much better getting it down. I'm not a much of a fan of Crystal Light or MIO... I sometimes do the nectar Fuzzy Navel Protein  powder with water during the day and that give me a two-fer --- water and Protein and it kind of taste like an Orange Julius.
My but gave me this along with the recommendation of less that 3o grams fat and 30 grams carbs for fist 3 mths. Then first year no more than 50 grams fat and carbs. Seems like every Dr. and program is different so check with your doctors / but and stay on your program. Best of luck.20190716_130730.jpeg

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
