George Bush: Worst American president in history

It still comes down to faith. Believe what you want and I will do the same. I still challenge you though to research the topic of the antichrist. I'm sure there is lots out there.

Just heard this on the news....very interesting concept. The state of AZ will be voting on the possibility of a one million dollar lottery for future voters. Each person that casts a vote will be put into the lottery to win. Some are saying it's against the law b/c money is involved. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I say the more people vote, the better.

Here's the link for the entire story:

BTW, Carlene ~ We have not cast our vote yet, but will do so on Tues. My DW and I have both voted since we were legally eligible. That would be a great poll question for a new thread.

Yup, your right again Leatha.

Nah, I don't think that people who don't believe in Christ are AN anti-Christ. There's a difference between being anti something and not believing in something. Or did I miss a joke in there?

P.S. I didn't read the article about AZ's proposition to give voters a chance to win a million dollars. That would probably be a really good thing for getting out the Democratic vote. I'm surprised that Arizona would consider doing something so inspirational to non-wealthy voters.

Now I will post my personal opinion. You don't have to agree with it. You don't even have to respond. I am just replying to the original post.

Bush, in my opinion, was NOT elected but appointed in the first election. That was a sad sad day. I cried and prayed for guidance and hope for our country. Then 9/11 happened. I was hoping that Bush would step up and defend our country. He responded by attacking the WRONG country. Iraq had NOTHING to do with the events from 9/11. Now our men and women are in harm's way for the wrong reasons. I pray for their safety every night. I pray for Bush to see the light and seek some more helpful and intelligent guidance than he has received so far. Maybe he should start listening to his father. He seemed to make more sense when he held the office. I at least have respect for him. But his son has been a huge embarrassment since taking office both times. I am so happy that he cannot hold office again.

On the Clinton issue, I still say and will continue to say, what difference does it make who he gets his pleasures from as long as it was concentual. WHO CARES? The real crime is showing it on National TV every day and putting us all through the ordeal.

Yes as long as people are elected / appointed to positions of power there will be corruption not long to follow. Power goes to some peoples heads faster than others. Some aren't prepared for the position of power and seek advisors. Those are the ones to look out for.

Our country is not very popular right now with foreign countries. I don't blame them at all. I am very ashamed of our government and how things have been handled with this Presidency.

I will continue to say my prayers every night that hopefully we get back to the great country we once was. I pray that we will once again be seen as a kind and compassionate country. I pray that we can undo some of the harm that has been done to innocent countries by this Presidency.

Hi Folks. Just got here. Wow! there's alot to read!

I am not guilty of treason, but I do think we'll lose the war in Iraq....because although Iraq was westernized to some extent before Hussein, it has not had a reputation for stability. It's been a country of arguments and squabbles and internal hostility, and of serious dividing predjudices. The only reason Hussien was able to bring some "stability" to the country was through internal terror. We removed Saddam, and we removed the stability. So now everybody's fighting again...which is their historical status quo. How is it that we can "win" and create a stable goverment in a country that has no reference point for it, and no inclination to stop hating it's own people? The 3 main factions can't even split the place up and have a central organizing government because Syria and Turkey will get mad if the factions that they don't like get any of their own land or autonomy and will go in and beat everybody up. The bottom line is that we went in there in order to surround Iran with USA presences in Afghanistan and Iraq, and whoever figured that would be a slam dunk didn't study the region's history first. It was a world class bonehead move.

I agree that this will increase the number of voters. As a conscientious voter I fear that the sudden influx of votes cast by people who never cracked the pamphlet (possibly even a newspaper) might undermine the "legitimacy" of the results.

Candidates will turn the airwaves into a casino. Bright lights, flashing lurid images, oh wait... they've already done that.

I think that people who care, vote. Republicans tend to care more because they view government as a business, their business. I am not a republican, but a pissed off optimist.

The behaviors of the politicians and the apathy of the population have caused the low turnout. A lottery is not a cure. Non-voters generally feel un-empowered, oppressed, and ineffectual. If we can fix THAT problem we will have to start printing ballots in overtime.

Oh yeah, I agree that bush is a douche.

I loved the article linked by Alexandra about the 109th congress too. Thanks.

You know what I wonder about? I wonder how Mr. Bush, alledgedly the prodoct of Groton, Yale and Harvard, managed to GRADUATE from any of these institutions? Don't give me legacy admissions and all that BS. I happen to have gone to a private, east-coast boarding school for high school and GRADUATED; went to a public "Ivy" university and have both a BA and an MA...AND I served with distinction in the US Armed forces, staying long enough to go to war AND get my honorable discharge. SO knowing all of this about me (and Mr. Bush) I wonder: How did he graduate from all of these institutions and STILL be unable to speak a gramatically correct, clear, concise sentance in (his native language) ENGLISH? At least when I went to school (a couple of decades AFTER Mr. Bush) I had to prove that I could use the language and communicate effectively before I ever got NEAR to graduating...lol....

Beware of this new Sexually transmitted disease!

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about

a new virulent strain of Sexually Transmitted Disease. It's

contracted through dangerous and high-risk behavior.

The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim and pronounced

"gonna re-elect him."

Many victims contracted it in 2004, after having been screwed

for the past four years. Naturalists and epidemiologists are

amazed at how this destructive disease originated only a few

years ago from a bush found in Texas.

Made me laugh--thought I'd share it!

Kat

And another thing! What I said before DOES NOT mean I don't support the troops or the USA. I am not treasonous (sp?). I just think as a country we need to figure out what to do next after that bonehead move, and go forward with a plan....and the plan may not involve getting alot more people killed while Iraq continues their age-old internal tantrum. Hopefully, the plan will include more than "oops": It's going to have to be a pretty clever set of moves that I don't know, but we should not, in my opinion, throw good money and lives after bad just to reduce the cognitive dissonance.

I am still free to believe and say that my President, God bless him, made a world class bonehead move. That is not treason, and I will support him in figuring out what to do next.....

Now, if my President says that disagreeing with him is treason, then he's coming from a different set of American values than I believe in.....and I'm a little scared.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
