I have a stupid question but both my husband and I are having surgery and I know we will Rx's and we are worried about bringing cash but Ronda for alighterme said they have fees for international charges in credit and debit cards that can be pricey. And since we both well have surgery we don't have a place to store cash. What would you all suggest? And how much was the meds that you had to get?

Thanks for asking this because I was wondering the same. I didn't know whether to bring my debit/credit card or just bring cash. I kind of want to bring one card just incase I need it for emergencies, but I don't want it to get stolen or anything...

All he meds you take home with you were included in the price we paid with Dr. Garcia. They gave you a goodie bag when you checked out of the hospital and it had several things in it including your meds. We used a cc for the extras at the hotel.

Also, check with the hotel...most have safes that you can use. Either in your room for a fee or at the desk.

I've used both and have NEVER had a problem.

I haven't gone yet, but I plan to keep everything of value locked in my carry-on bag (it's a hard case roll-on with a built-in lock) while I'm in the hospital. From an older thread, I seem to remember that buying additional meds is pretty cheap and to bring cash for them. For tipping, shopping, and everything else, I'll probably take $100 cash and 1 card.

I tried to buy some of my meds from a TJ pharmacy. The brand name one they didnt yet have. The other one is generic in the US but they only had it as a brand name and it was more expensive than what I pay for my deductable (I pay 20% copay).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
