I am scheduled for surgery on jan 14th. I am a mixture of excited and nervous.

The pre op diet hasn't been terrible but not great either. I'm having trouble drinking the three to five shakes a day. Two on a good day. I'm also sick to my stomach with the runs. I have made a call to my doctor about this but had anyone else gotten sick from the shakes?

Very normal to have loose stool, especially if you are only ingesting Protein Shakes and/or only liquids. It will get better down the road. Hang in there!

I assure you it is the BEST thing you will EVER do for yourself! I am 3 months out and down 40 pounds. I would have NEVER lost 40 pounds without the support the sleeve gives me. It is an excellent tool to assist you in the weight loss journey.

Good Luck to you and keep us posted on your progress! :)

Check the type of shake your are drinking as well. If they are "sugar free" they can contain a lot of things like manitol or sorbitol. Neither of which do good things to the digestive track. Also drink lots of Water. The runs can cause big time dehydration, which in turn can tighten the pipes and then you have this endless loop of tight and loose going on down there.

Welcome and congrats on having a date. I would also suggest checking to see if sugar-free or any other additives. Good luck

What they said above :) Also remember, if you're only putting liquid in, well that's what comes out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
