Recommended Posts

I hate running and walking. I prefer to do zumba or taebo (sp?). today I start wk 3 of c25k. It's been hard but I feel great after im done. I think im going to repeat wk 2 because I dont think I can do wk 3 yet. In between I was walking 30 min but im going to do my zumba videos instead. Idk maybe look into beginners bootcamp.

Good luck!!!! I'm a former runner looking to get back to a pre weight gain and pre ankle injury running status I understand where you are. Please be careful and don't push yourself too hard. You'll get there. I'll be cheering you on. Be sure to keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks!! I'm excited. It was my ulimate goal after surgery. The best thing is my surgeon is running it with me!!

Awesome! How wonderful to have that level of support from your surgeon.

One of my bucket list goals is to run a 5k, and I'm hoping to start the C25K this spring and summer in prep for a fall race. Best of luck to you! Please keep us posted!

I HATED running in college, when I was slimmer, but that was 20 years ago and I'm a dedicated man now. Have a goal, and beat that sucker!!

Downloaded the app on my phone and started today. Day 1 was simple. Skin around my incisions was sore a bit from the running segments. Plan to stick with it and my 2013 goal is to run a 5k with my daughters' date=' who are both competitive runners and run track. Used to run a lot before a broken foot and a ton of weight gain stopped me. Can't wait for the first race some time in future...wish me luck![/quote']

OMG I just downloaded this to my phone and hoping to run a 5k this spring too. Always have wanted to run. I hope and pray this work.

I started it yesterday. It was rough for me. I have never run in pretty much my adult life. I only was able to get about half way but going to work on it. I'm determined to do it. I know 74 lbs ago through I could hardly walk let alone run so I'm proud of my accomplishment. I think when I get a few more pounds off it will be easier.

Repeating weeks is a great strategy to help you finish the program! :) However, why are you doing c25k if you hate running/walking? Feeling great afterwards is wonderful, but sometimes it might be hard to get started if you really dislike it. I would recommend that you pick and stick with an exercise that you enjoy. This will help you stick with it. You get a great calorie burn with zumba and taebo as well. :) I love zumba and for some reason I always am sore after zumba. Lol! Keep running too if that's what you choose to do.

Yea thats what I was thinking. Im doin an app on my treadmill 3xs a wk now and in between zumba:-) im goin to throw in Water aerobics as soon as it warms up. Tx panhandle too cold right now. Maybe after I drop more weight I can run but right now im doin the brisk walk uphill on that app and im losing lbs still!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
