Oops, hit "enter" too soon. Anyway, I know it's kind of off-topic but is anyone else experiencing a bit of jealousy from the hubby? I'm 6 weeks out, down 24 lbs, and I'm getting a bit of a jealous overtone lately...comments about being friends with guys on Facebook, staying late at work to go to gym...one thing I did NOT expect as a side-effect of losing weight and getting healthier was to have to reassure my husband. Like I don't have enough to think about!

He's seeing how sexy and more beautiful you are going to be, and he knows men will be hitting on you. Maybe he needs a little more attention from you to reassure him. He probably is feeling a little left out because of all the changes you've made with your life. It's not the normal routine that he's use to. He will adjust in time with your help.

Mine has been very supportive. We talked at length prior to my surgery, and continue to have an open dialogue. I included him with a few support group meetings, he comes to my post op appts. My plan was to exercise together, but we both have fallen short in that one.

So if your husband needs some reassurance, give it to him. Your marriage deserves the extra effort.

Mine didn't speak to me for 3 days when I told him I was having the surgery. He knows he's been a lousy husband and was sure I would leave him. But that is his problem born out of his own insecurities. I just don't let it be mine because then he wins. In the beginning he would try to sabotage me and try to get me to eat things I shouldn't. When he realized I couldn't eat those things, he would offer them and then go "oh, but you can't eat that" rubbing my nose in it. Playing mind games. One of the best things I have learned in this journey, is how to stand up for myself. I finally looked him in the face and said, " at some point you are going to have to realize that every time you do something to try hurt me, or try to stick it to me, the person you hurt the worse is yourself!" He asked what I meant and I told him to think about it. It wasn't long after that, that he stopped trying to

undermine my efforts. Sadly you may encounter a lot of negativity during this process. You just have to do what's right for you. You will never be able to make everyone else happy, so spend your energy making yourself happy!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
