I have an app that I track my weight on. Started off with a BMI of 42 - the app screen was red which indicates an obese category.

When I updated my weight today it changed colors to yellow - BMI of 29 - that put a huge smile on my face.

Still in the overweight category - 30 pounds to go before I'm to goal. These are the small victories we never see coming.

I weighed today and have lost 87 pounds since my December 3rd surgery. Was hoping for 100 by now but 3.7 pounds average per week is not too shabby. My new puppy has helped me get more active. I got a miniature dachshund and named her Lilly. She loves to go for walks which is great for me! Everyone keep the faith and stay focused :)

Yeah. I'm in the 170s today. A couple pounds from being " overweight" instead of obese. I am losing just 2 lbs a week but only walking for exercise.

Almost a decade ago I lost 90 lbs but was exercising 2 hours per day. A shoulder and knee injury derailed that and gained it all back and then some. Decided this time I was going to lose it with a lifestyle I can maintain realistically. So been losing slowly but surely. No stalls more than a week.

Sleeved 12/17

Highest weight 254

Preop 244

Day of sx 233

Today 179

No stalls more than a week.

Not sure how youve managed to survive that! Congrats!

Great job! We've lost the same amount! I am also hoping to say 90 pounds by my 6 month date on the 19, but even I don't make it, I'm thrilled, and I know you must be, too! Congratulations

I am so happy for all my December sleevers, I see how far a lot of us have come and it makes me so happy to see that despite our differences we all seem to have some form of success in this Journey . Some faster then others but never the less the scale is moving for us all we made a lifestyle decision and have committed to it and we know that we all may now have a chance to live a longer life due to that choice I stand and applaud you all for making this decision because this is not easy and its a daily fight to make the right choice so that we may continue to be successful. GO DECEMBER SLEEVERS!

Thanks for the 5 day reset! I am still stalled. Joined the gym and start on Monday. I am happy that school is out now I can concentrate on my weight loss. No more 16 hour days for a few months so I can get to the gym. My goal is 175 by July 4th. That would be about 10 lbs. I can do this. And BTW everyone is doing great. I have to remember that on Dec. 18th I weighted in at 245. I am now at 186. That is amazing. I saw my pictures in the year book from the beginning of the year. Now I can see it. Good luck on Summer time all! GO DECEMBER SLEEVERS!

No problem we need to really be here in support for each other I hope you reach your goal. funny we have the same goal date.. i want to be 170 by July 3rd though I hope i can reach goal by then.. That would give me 6 pounds i need to loose,, it gets harder the smaller you get or so at least it seems.

I still want to lose like another 100 pounds. Maybe a little less than that. I started at 355 and I honestly can't even remember the last time I was where I am right now. Before 2001, I know that for sure. It feels good to get a lot of weight off. I still get pissed off at myself sometimes for letting it get so out of control. It's nice to know that we can eat more "normal" amounts of food and live. It always felt like my stomach was some kind of bottomless pitt. I have averaged out at what I consider a healthy rate but fast enough to keep my interest. I haven't killed myself doing crazy exercising but I have been ten times more active than I was before. I am taking steps as I am comfortable with doing so, not obsessing over weighing (I only weigh every two weeks or so), exercising increases as I lose and feel safe doing so, and I eat foods high in protein but if I want a treat, I have a little treat. You still need to live a little, I just don't overdo it. I'm very happy with my new lifestyle.

I am so excited to be back on this site.... I have defeniently fallen off the ball and I need my VSG family to help me get back on

Hi my December Sleevers Family !!! I missed all the encouraging post while I was gone. I feel off the "FULL STEAM AHEAD WAGON" ... Excuse= I just received my undergrad degree which means I stressed so much over Finals, Letters for referrals, Looking for a job and Graduation. That I let my eating habbits slip and my workouts slip.

I'm back here to get what I had at the begining. Encouragment and to see other people who are doing the same as me, succed that will help me push harder.

I had a question about vitamins..( I HAVE TOTALLY STOPPED TAKING THEM :( )

What is your vitamin regamin now, I need to get back into it?

Whats your favorfite Multivitamin, B12 sub vitamin, Calcium Citrate Vitamin?

Also whats your favorite forms of protien (I've stopped that too)?

I see the VSG site on an app (vs. the computer), so I was wondering what your starting weight was? I think in spite of your crazy college/graduation/job seeking lifestyle, you must be still doing a great job.

I still take all the vitamins, but I have a hard time getting in all the calcium citrate because my NUT told me to take it three times a day but not near "iron," so I usually get 4 in and sometimes the last two but not always. Most of my vitamins are from the company TwinLabs and the brand is called "Bariatric Support." I have my 6 month check up a few weeks early tomorrow and I will find out the results of my bloodwork then. I have a friend who had surgery a year before me and she was told to back off certain vitamins after the 6 month visit because she was getting enough nutrition from her food sources. So, we shall see.

I am 5' 3 1/2" and was 242 last July. I lost 20 lbs by December when I had surgery, so I was 222 on day of surgery. I think I am about 162 now. (I weigh the most on my surgeon's scale, so again, we will see tomorrow.) My goal is 130 based on a body composition test that I had done with a "sports" doctor. Usually someone as short as me should weigh between 115-125, but the body comp test doesn't lie and the doctor said 130 would be "ideal." I haven't been that size since middle school, so hopefully I will get there. I don't lose as quickly as some. YOu gve yourself 10 lb goals each month, but I was looking at my fitbit stats for the past 3 months (since the last doctor's visit) and I haven't lost 10 lbs/month before now, so I imagine it will get harder (for me). I think I exercise a lot. (good) I am not a slave to an all protein diet. (bad? debatable?)

Hi, and welcom back! You are well on your way, and you will get there. This is what life is made of - stress and thing that happen that can derail us, but you recongnized it and you are back! That's what determines success, so good for you.

As for vitamins, you might need to check with your doc, since vitamin regimes are specific to your blood levels. But just to give you an idea, I'm taking a pre-natal with iron, 5000mcg biotin, VitD3 4000 mg, Calcium citrate 1500 mg, and Iron 325 2 times daily. I have to admit that I hate taking all this stuff - it's a full time job to make sure you get it all in correctly. I was taking a big ole prescription pre-natal, but yesterday I bought the vita fusion gummys, since I have a hard time swallowing that big prenatial. I also order the Celebrate chewable multivitamin. I use Calcet creamy chews 500 mg calcium, or the Celebrate soft chews, or Citrical petites. Problem with the those is that you need to take 7.5 pills a day to get in 1500 mg.

So, like you, I have to be mindful of when I take all this stuff. Coffee interferes with absorption, and calcium and iron both have to be taken in deivided doses and can't be taken together. So, I get up in the morning and have coffee, but can't take any vitamins for two hours. Then I start taking the calcium in one form or another. I space them out about 2 hours apart, and try to have them finished by the time I leave work. Then, in the evening I start working on the iron pills. Then I take the prenatal at bedtime. I also take all the other stuff in between there, so I feel like I'm taking pills all day long - because I am!!

As for the diet, I'm eating around 900-1100 calories a day for the most part. I sometimes go higher, rarely go lower, and I am sort of a slave to the protein. It doesn't bother me, so it's easy to do. I exercise 3-5 days a week, depending on what's going on and how I feel.

I feel like I've settled into a pretty livable routine that I can continue to manage indefinitely. Again, welcome back and good luck.

I have my 6 month check up in another week and I'm sure they will adjust my vitamins based on my bloodwork. I currently take

Breakfast: 600 mg calcium citrate, 5000 vitamin D, 1000mg B-12, B-complex, and 5000mg Biotin,

Lunch: two flintstone chewables with iron

Dinner: 600mg calcium, biotin

My nut thinks I get enough other calcium from diet. I eat 1000 to 1100 calories per day. I eat 70 to 90 grams of protein. Less than 45 grams of fat. I don't really worry about carbs because I still don't have room for bread or pasta.

Welcome back.

Hey y'all I've been very discouraged lately. I haven't lost any weight but I can see inches falling off. I am almost at my six month mark and I've lost a total of 85lbs 60 since surgery. I am going to try the five day pouch test y'all recommended.

I don't know if stress has anything to do with my inability to loose weight now. Like many o you know My husband deployed three days post my surgery and we've had 9 casualties which impacted me quite a bit.. I've lost all interest in eating and most days find myself just wanting to drink coffee. My energy is horrible and I will admit I don't take my B12 vitamins because I forget.

I want to thank everyone for their awesome support and words of wisdom. I am just ready for this deployment to be over with an can't wait to see a change in me soon.

Youll get going again. Ill be watching for feedback on resetting too. Theres something out there called five day pouch test which may work.

Don't get discouraged. I 460 when I started November 2009. Surgery was December 2011. I was down to 365 January 2013. The scale stopped moving for a few months but waist down to 54 from 60 and down to wearing 3x from 6x. I know that you don't want to hear that you are 'reshaping your body' but there is some validity to it. If possible try to get a body fat measurement and stop measuring success only with the scale. That said. I go to gym 3-4 times a week and go back to post surgery diet of only protein shake and yogurt one day a week. It prevents u stretching your stomach
