All of my December sleevers...

Recommended Posts

Heck yes we do!! Ok so I thought that too about drinking - like there was a 90 day waiting period but I looked through the book that my doctor gave me and it said to just be careful of sugars and such. So I don't drink often or anything but some tequila and lime juice and some other stuff won't kill me or my diet too bad.... Well I hope!!! How far out are you? I am like 6ish weeks!

Friday was my 6 weeks ck up! I'm down 33 from my 10 day liq diet b4 surg! I have a friend she's a year out and she looks awesome and she said she was allowed wine! That's my drank! :) lol well everything and anything is my drank lol!

I love me some white wine!! Wine has the lowest calories (i think) and will be a good alcohol beverage for this lifestyle. I mean, as long as it is not all the time... ;)

I read that there are two reasons for stalls one is our bodies have lost so much weight in such a small amount of time it needs time to adjust to the change. and then the second was that since we are taking in so little calories our bodies goes into protective mode and starts taking the calories it needs from our muscles (instead of burning our fat) and it also takes out 8 pounds of our Water in our body we need so once it sees that our diet isn't changing you will get that 8 pounds of water back and it will stop pulling from our lean muscles and the weight will then resume its lost. So with that said between the two i guess your stall is based on how fast your body gets the memo that one this is your new food intake and its not changing and that 2 yes i lost a lot of weight and allow it to readjust to its new environment. I guess some except the change faster then others.. But no matter UNLESS YOU ARE CHEATING! You should resume weight loss no matter what just follow your diet plan to the last letter.. 8 glasses of water and 3 meals and 1 snack to 2 a day no grazing dont take longer then 3 minutes to eat a meal chew chew chew and you should be fine DONT GIVE UP! You did not come this far to let a stall discourage you! December Sleevers best of luck to you all!

Congrats Dee. Did you do what undercoverbariatricgal suggested and drink a lot more? Just curious if that is what worked for you.

yes... I pushed the limits on my liquid intake and since my bursitis is better, I got up and moved...so happy!

Since 3 week stall broke about 5 days ago, I'm down 8. I'm happy again. But hunger is always there between meals now. It's hard but I need to keep pushing Water in and avoid temptation to snack. I eat three meals and two Protein Shakes. Meals are high Protein low carb. My carbs are under 20g now. Under 50g / day when I was stalled so I think I need really low carbs.

Regarding alcohol, my docs/nut says to avoid it the first year. Im assuming there are a couple of reasons for that: 1) alcohol is liquid carbs/calories and 2) people tend to replace one addiction with another (i.e. food with alcohol). I've seen some YouTube sleeve blog videos where they stated that they definitely have slowing started drinking a lot more alcohol post sleeve. That being said I don't have an addictive personality and if I want to have a glass of wine or a marguerita on a special occasion, I will.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
