okay ......i know this sounds dumb , but im sure i am not the only one here with this question !! for probably all of us on here , i am sure we have yo yo dieted most of our lives . while on that particular diet , i'm sure alot of us had to watch our calorie intake , and sure enough, the weight would come off ,right ?!well ...with our new tummy holding only 4qz , i believe , our focus is not on calorie count , but on Protein ,,,correct ???of course , i know we need to consume Proteins with our new tummy, but what else all triggers in there ???calories, carbs , protein ...

i know we really cant sit down to 3 meals a day , right ?its just unreal that our tummys hold so lil and not much fills it up........so do we "GRAZE" on good protein food thruought the day ??????i did not have a very good nutritionalist :( and feel like i need to know so much more . i know carbs play a factor ....under 20 a day ??? i had my surgery on dec. 8th ..and am able to tolerate foods greatly now and trying to get in the fluids , i just want to make sure i am doing things proper and the right way .but when i do eat , it doesnt feel like a meal, just a protein to keep me full ! Any and all advice appreciated !!! :)

Great links above but here are some directly related to VSG. What you need to realize is that there is no one or single answer. That is why we discuss topics. Our surgeons are different in levels of experience, how they suture our tummies and what they feel we should do. Personally what worked for me was strictly limiting myself to no more than 30gm of carbs. Carbs were my downfall before surgery and I quickly learned that the more carbs I ate post op, the less weight I would lose. So, find your sweet spot.

Hugs - I love my sleeve and have no regrets.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
