How much weight can I get rid off in 3 months

Recommended Posts

My sleeve date is Jan 28 and that's great Im happy but my college graduation is in May and I want to look great for pic's and family, I dont have any nice pic's of me and I would love to finally be happy to look great and order my cap and gown a smaller size. Just wanted some feed back on how much weight I can get rid off, I know everyone is different but just need to feel some hope......

Im about 245 now and Im working on getting some weight off before the sleeve date.

It varies with every person but I would say 36 pounds (12 pounds per month) is realistic. Good Luck and congrats on your college graduation! Graduating from college is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself (and the sleeve of course too!)

I lost 50 lbs in the first 3 months. I started at 300 and I am 6ft tall. I'm 4.5 months out now and down 73 lbs. Good luck to you.

Congrats on your sleeve and double congrats on your Graduation! I'm not sleeve yet,

But im adding Protein Shakes now so i could get weight loss before the sleeve as an option. Discuss with your Nut for a diet menu pre op. Try using fitness Pal for added support. The pre op diet should help.

good luck!

I would say 40 to 50 lbs but if you are really motivated to meet a goal at graduation, get started now! Okay, get started after the holidays... Everyone wants that last meal but believe me, at seven months out, I can eat anything and everything I ate before but less of it. There is no need for a last meal. I wish someone would have told me that because the weight is coming off a lot slower now and if I had worked harder pre surgery, I would be that much further along now. I'm happy with my loss but still anxious to make my goal.

That's so great to hear! I'm also getting surgery on Jan 28th. I have a family wedding in may, which is the first time I'll be seeing most of my family after surgery, so I've been curious about the same thing-thanks for all the feedback!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
