Yes Megs, I go in the day before for the egd. What is that like? How long were you drowsy afterwards. I have an appointment later that day with Dr Lewis for the last time.

Make sure that you double check your time and call the office to make sure Dr Kirk has the same time. I was hooked up and everything at the hospital for 4 almost 5 hours before I went back. Coming out of the anesthetic was not bad. I was awake and not drowsy right after

Ok, Thanks Megs. I will call and make sure they have him down for the same time. 4-5 hours is ridiculous. Did you end up with one or two night in the hospital?

If my insurance would pay for my surgery I would definitely go to Dr. Varnell or Dr. Katsis. Since I'm paying cash I'm going to Mexico. I work for Oklahoma Surgical Hospital in Tulsa and dr varnell and dr. Katsis (surgical associates inc.) are part owners and do all of their other surgerys where I work. They are awesome drs and super nice guys also. I do MRI/cat scan/xray and I used to work in the OR and when you work in the OR you get a behind the scenes look at how the docs really are and how they treat the surgery staff and I can say these two docs are top notch and treat others well. Some docs not so much and are really as**oles in the or. Anyone choosing bailey bariatric should know they are in good hands. I hope this helps some people. My name is Joanne and I live in broken arrow and I am getting sleeved on march 2nd by dr. Guillermo Alvarez. Excited but nervous.

Good luck Joanne. I have heard great things about Dr Alvarez on here. Dr Katsis did my surgery on 1/8. He was great

Had surgery this past thursday. I really didnt think it would set me back like it did. Feeling really weak today, but I know it will get better. Pain has never been an issue. I havent taken pain meds. I will just be glad when I start feeling some kind of normalcy. How long before you got back in the groove?

It took a couple of weeks before I started feeling normal again. Don't over do it. When u feel tired then rest. It will get better especially when u start eating something you don't have to drink

It gets way better. I am so happy that I did it. Yes Protein will help. Don't stress if you don't get all your liquids in right now. It gets better. Make sure to take your Vitamins in the morning or you have more of a chance to be up all night. Not real sure why but it happens...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
