I'm alive! My surgery was onSaturday morning, and I'm currently still in the hospital. My surgeon was over 2 hrs late, which pissed everyone off, including the nurses, and other medics, and especially my dad. When he did finally show, he was kinda rude and didn't really talk to any of us. After surgery I had some issues with pain management and sipping. I passed my sip test, only to vomit very aggressively an hour later which is why I'm still here. The staff at Forest Park has been wonderful except for one neglectful nurse. Make sure you have someone to advocate on your behalf. That's very important. So far so good, maybe I'll get to go home today!

Hello everyone.. my surgery is this thursday the 20th. I am freakin out over here. This is my first ever surgery and boy oh boy I don't know what to expect. Please keep me in your prayers and I will be praying for you all as well.

Great idea!

Hi Dana! We will be having surgery on the same day! I'm loving that it's the end of the world accroding to the Mayans and the beginning of my new life! I hope all goes smoothly. Good luck!

@dezilou..sorry to hear that. I hope everything else goes smoothly for u.who was your surgeon?. I have mine on Thursday with Dr. Kim at Baylor Trophy

In my post-op room now. Waiting for my surgeon to arrive. Surgery was scheduled for 8:00, but has been delayed due to a schedule issue with the surgeon. All I can say at this moment is- I Want Coffee!!!

Surgery went very well. I have walked a lot without nausea. I am surprised that I am not miserable! I can drink ice water better than the broth or the Crystal Light. I'd say so far so good!!

Desilou,

Who did your surgery

New to this site. Surgery scheduled for 12/21.

Dr. Matthew French. He's with the Surgical Specialists of Louisiana.

Glad to heard that your surgery went well. I'm with you Zi can tolerate ice chip and water, and only chicken broth. I have been walking but still have bad gas from surgery. Best of luck!

B E A N 2 B E 5 5 !-- This is your moment! You are the only one on the list that is having surgery today. I hope you are excited but calm at the same time. I pray that your drive to the hospital is a safe one. May He take any doubts about your procedure from your mind, as if it was not in His plan for you, you would not be here. I hope you are surrounded by supporting family in friends during your journey and that they bring no harm, intentional or unintentional, your way. Hopefully your surgeon has had his coffee for the morning and is as pleasant as his nursing and physician staff. We will pray you through this surgery. Please post when you feel up to it to let us know you are A-OK!

WIth that said, It's that time again-

GO FORTH AND BE SLEEVED my friend! Your flowers will be here waiting on you!

"Cheer leader-- O--U---T"!!!!!
