    Made it to 1 month!

Woot Woot! Dec. 21 here! I am following your exact path. I'm down 14 lbs since surgery and have not lost anything the last week +. I have a feeling mine is linked to carb intake- while I am careful, I still have 40-50 grams a day. At this point, Protein shakes make me GAG, but I know if I incorporate more into my day, I'll start losing again. All we can do is our best I made the ricotta bake last night and it is DELISH! I made them in single serve ramekins (hearts!) and they are really yum. I would like to up the veg factor by adding steamed spinach and maybe mushrooms. I'm cleared to eat anything at this point. (not that I am)
  4. Celebrating being able to wear high heels again without excrutiating pain!!! WOO HOO!

    DELICIOUS protein shake!

Made this last night & it was HEAVEN! Peanut Brittle Protein shake 1 1/2 C milk + cold Water 1 serving vanilla protein powder 1 1/2 T dry sugarfree butterscotch pudding mix 1 T peanutbutter I threw in a few icecubes & blended away in my NutriBullet. You can't even taste the funk of the protein powder! It is yum! I do not have PB2 yet- but will lighten this up when I get some. I also am going to play with adding a cup of greek yogurt and freeze it. Would be an awesome icecream treat!

weird feeling in my stomach when I eat mostly anything

It also could be acid causing a sour stomach. I felt so sick yesterday after eating scrambled eggs that I had to go home. Could not drink or eat without a very unhappy pouch. I'm a tad better today after taking an acid reducer last night and this morning. It's been added to my morning pills. As always, talk to your doc before taking anything- but I think this is the trick for me. Good luck!
  7. Hello! My timeline went from 0 to 100 yesterday. I was approved 12/10- scheduled for surgery 12/21 & started my liquids today. My head is still spinning! I am really loopy & hungry. Does the mental fog get better? Any tips on what people did to ease the hunger? (besides eating what I shouldn't!) AND- do you add any flavors, vanilla, peppermint extract etc? I'm new to the site, but have learned a great deal from everyone! This is my first post- hope I am in the right spot! Thanks.

    Pre-op diet

I was sooo much better on Day 5. Had a few yo-yo days- but hanging in there! Drinking tea & lots of fluids helped me. You must accept the hourly (or more often) trips to the baño. My company's Water bill MUST be higher this month! ha ha. You keep reminding yourself that you are doing this for your health & it's OK to be a bit grumpy these days On a couple of nights that I could not fall asleep bc I was so hungry, I scrambled an egg. I did it early in the diet. Afraid to eat anything close to the surgery date since we don't have to take that crazy laxative to clear ya out before surgery. I'm finishingDay 9- 1 day to go & then VSG-Day! Good luck!! Force be with you!
  9. I'm posting bc I maybe someone has experienced the freak-out before surgery and can share perspective. I'm getting my sleeve this Friday (Dec. 21) and have been very diligent to sticking to my liquid diet. Right now I am so tired, hungry and emotional I just want to curl up in a ball and start crying. I don't understand my feelings. I should be happy, excited. These VLC liquid days have been really hard and I am very nervous that the days after my surgery will be worse - I really want to go into surgery with a positive, happy outlook, but that is hard to manage right now. Anyone have thoughts on how to turn my frown upside down? Thanks!
  10. It's some of all the above, but I'm so excited for our embarking on this new journey. Sending wishes of health and speedy healing your way. You'll be in my thoughts! Good luck!!!
  11. Hi Dana! We will be having surgery on the same day! I'm loving that it's the end of the world accroding to the Mayans and the beginning of my new life! I hope all goes smoothly. Good luck!

Day 1 of 10 on liquid diet..... where are my fog lights?

Thank you! I'm better- on Day 6 & less of a blithering idiot. Just tired- but nothing that can't be handled. I've found that low carb slim fast helps a lot & I eat every 2 hours. keeps the pangs away. Best of luck to ya'll!
