Im sleeved!!!! Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes. Just got back from my 4th 'lap' around the hall. Had quite a bit of gas pain but its getting better.

Had some nausea so the gave me the behind the ear patch as well as something in my IV. I've slept almost all day and doc said if all looks good may be able to go home tomorrow.

Hope all my other sleevers had a safe surgery.

Surgery went fine. Was in surgery by 8something and out about 930. I was in recovery and then in a room sometime before lunch (p.s. the hospital I was at ONLY has private rooms and they do have a bariatric ward.) That was nice! Mom was allowed to come in just after lunch time but I was so doped up that I don't remember much and was in and out of it until about 5 or so?

The first two times I walked ,I walked with a walker and THANK GOD for those. When I got to the end of the hall I dry heaved a bunch then it was a little better.

Don't be shy to ask for meds for pain nausea etc! That's what they are for to make u comfortable.

I had my upper GI and leak test early thurs morning. No leaks! yay! that test made me dry heave. And it wasn't nearly as thick as the pre op stuff i had to drink. Once I passed that Then the catheter was taken out, and I was given more pain and anti nausea meds through my IV. I got to have some beef broth, Jello, an Decaf tea. All of which I could only take 1-2 tsp of at a time but tasted heavenly!!!

They took the compression stockings off after that and then said I had to pee on my own before any going home decisions could be made. Took about an hour or two nap and then was able to go on my own. The doc came around as well as the bariatric director and a few other hospital people to check on me. I was walking laps fine so when the doc came in he said I could go home and gave me a few scripts (liquid loritab, anti nausea meds) and a follow up date (18th).

He also suggested only taking 1-1.5 tsp of the loritab every hr or every other hr as needed instead of a big dose (4tsp every 4hrs) at once and that has helped tremendously.

Since being home I've taken a couple doses of the pain meds and nothing for nausea. I've been super gassy but feeling mostly ok. Still tired and weak a bit, and I think that's because I'm only getting 1/2 to 2/3 of the required amt of liquids down. I got 2 Protein Shakes in yesterday and about 25-30 oz of liquid, so not TOO bad. I'm working on second Protein Shake for the day now...yesterday I took a 3ish hour nap and went to run a couple errands (about an hr or two total) and I was beat after that hence the nap. Today also ended up a 3 hr nap....

Hmmm what else? Anything else you guys wanna know??? Just ask be more than happy to share my journey!

I am now 5 days post-op and am feeling a lot better. I haven't had a bowel movement and that kinda concerns me. I felt well enough to load the dishwasher, do a little laundry and just general picking up. I know I'm not getting all my fluids and Protein yet, but that is so difficult but I'm trying. I can't wait until my second week so I can have something different to drink. My soarness is not as bad. I can turn over and get up a little easier. I will keep everyone updated.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
