Any Ladies Have Lighter Menstrul Cycles After Vsg?

Recommended Posts

Been on birth control since age 16, stopped a month before surgery per my surgeons request. The only problem I have is that for the last 17 years I knew exactly when my cycle would start and end. Doc says I can go back on them now.

I wish! Mine was 2 weeks late after surgery (which freaked me out btw) and it came back yesterday with a vengeance! Holy cow, the cross are worse than ever and it's super heavy. And I am only 2 weeks out from surgery so I haven't taken anything for the cramps as I am not sure what I can!

Rapid weight gain/loss will affect your flow, I've gained 30lbs in 5months due to lap band complications causing me to miss a period. I freaked because I'm being sleeved the 10th and was afraid I was pregnant and would be able to get the revision. It's the same with weightloss plus keep in mind how dehydrated you are compared to before the surgery.

Try liquid Tylenol, or call the surgeon office to make certain. Cramps are horrible, I get them really bad too.

Ok mine started yesterday (a week late)! It seems to be the same. Mine are usually not heavy and only last 3-4 days. I pray it stays that way! It does explain why the scale has been going the wrong way though!

Nicole.. I'm hoping I start soon.. I'm over a week late. I'm cramping like crazy though. I woke up very frustrated this this morning because the weight seems to not be coming off. I'm a month out from surgery. And still haven't list 20 pounds yet. Not sure what's going on with all that.

With my past experience with losing weight, I always stall a week before my period then lose like 10 pounds after. I'm hoping that will happen again!

I'm 5 weeks post op and am also about a week late. Freaking out just a little. Lol. I have seemed to be losing very slowly also....maybe retaining Water? I'm not sure what's goin on either...it seems everyone is different. Hopefully you start soon and hit that 20lbs! :)

Well went to my second post op dr. Visit and I'm 24 pounds down in 6 1/2 weeks. I am happy with that I suppose. I tell ya, I sure do feel better after my cycle started, it's like my body is back to normal and I feel like I have super powers from all the energy that I've had lately.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
